Re: [Announce] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

Everytime there is a new version I just download it and install it
Code:

pkcon install-local harbour-mitakuuluu-0.1-5.armv7hl.rpm
Is this the correct way to update while the app isn't in the harbour? Should i remove previous versions or can I just install the new builds like i have been doing?

Thank you for your work @Coderus, donation coming soon :-)

Re: [Announce] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

Is there any possibility to avoid the accessibility of the whole phonebook by this app???

I don't want Whatsapp to get all of my numbers and it's just a little boring to always carry two cellphones with me...

You could also open the store and have it running in the back, go to your transfers in settings panel, click the downloaded file, swipe it away and go back to the store. Now you'll see that the file is ready for you to install in the 'normal' way (store)

Wondering about re-registration option for MitaKuuluu.
It would be nice option to add... or how to do it?

Re: [Announce] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

Great app. Thanks. Few questions:

1. how can I listen to the audio files that I received? I see that the file is downloaded but how to play it?

2. I can view images but.. don't see them in Jolla's gallery and can't send them via e-mail (attachement is not created).

Where are those files stored?

Very promising / very nice, Coderus. I especially like the new status "I'm using Mitakuuluu!" I'll send you a donation.

The app crashes when the phone loses the connection, and i can't reopen it unless i reboot the phone
By the way, it's a good job, 3 updates in 2 days, as soon as i get the possibility, i'll make a donation =)

Gets stuck at "registration failed" on Jolla

Hi,

download and install went fine.

Starting the app shows "registration failed" (message only visible in small window on Jolla when backgrounded), I requested registration code and received one by SMS (it includes a "-" which I can't type at registration due to keyboard limitation).

Entered it and hit "Registration" - now app gets stuck, I can background it and see "registration failed" ...

Sailsfish 1.0.2.5 (but same effect on previous version)

Any suggestion very welcome !

Best

Matthias

EDIT: I could solve the problem.

I am already so fixed to using Jolla that after entering the registration code I hit "Registration" at the top right corner of the window, which is the usual way to confirm an entry in SailfishOS/Jolla - but this is not the correct way here ...

I now hit the right arrows on the lower right hand corner which caused the app to register and correctly show my conversations and contact.

Suggestion: put the registration command also under "Registration" in top right corner of app, this might help Jolla users.

Thank you for a great app !!!!

@klippe files downloading to /home/nemo/MyDocs/WhatsApp
you can see them only by moving to working folders, i'll fix it location in next release.
And you cant listen music after receiving just because Sailfish not supporting opening media files by associations yet. In next release downloaded media will appear in gallery and mediaplayer.

@ZioBilly mail me /home/nemo/.whatsapp/whatsapp.log please.

@manankanchu thanks for noticing. next release will come with many ui fixies :)

@inte mail me /home/nemo/.whatsapp/whatsapp.log please.

if ANY crash or critical bug - mail me logfile. it listed in openrepos description ;)

P.S. thanks for donations :)

Hey Coderus,

I had a look in the log-file and this is the only line which appears when trying to sync the phonebook:

Quote:

src/WhatsApp.cpp:520 void WhatsApp::getPhonebook(): [D 13:07:35 CLIENT] Have "937" contacts
I send you a complete logfile by pm.
Thanks,

Chris

Re: [Announce] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

Well... Perhaps I'm too lazy to search... But is there an autostart-feature (as I know it from the Symbian version of Whatsapp) or is the deamon only running when opened by the user???

coderus 2013-12-28 13:03

Re: [Announce] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

@Confuse-M no autostart

Re: [Announce] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

Coderus, maybe gdb may gives you a better idea of my problems.
This is the crash:

Application active
[PageStack] selectPhonebook
Missing separate debuginfo for /usr/lib/qt5/plugins/contacts/libqtcontacts_sqlite.so
Try: zypper install -C "debuginfo(build-id)=0ad7d4e0a38ec6f2037daea650cba3fa5674d69c"
The 'mergePresenceChanges' option has not been configured - presence changes will only be reported via ContactManagerEngine::contactsPresenceChanged()
[D 16:25:35 CLIENT] Have "937" contacts

Program received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault.
0x400a7b70 in QtContacts::QContactDetail::value(int) const () from /usr/lib/libQt5Contacts.so.5
(gdb)

Edit: I have several double Pphonebook entries which I simply merged in the Jolla handest. As far as I understand the debug message, this may cause the problem ('mergePresenceChanges' option has not been configured)?

Awesome! There seems to be a bug with landscape mode, though. If you turn back with the kb visible, the app still reserves half of the screen for the keyboard.
Also, would be cool to have app sync the names from contacts list. I find the nicknames confusing as whatsapp is my main way to contact people.

Mmmh, I've never used Whats App before, so I don't know whether I am doing it right, but I am not able to register. I input my phone number in international format, then I press register or swipe to accept to register. I end up on the registration page but nothing happens. Tried both SMS or voice.

@coderus, great update :)
is it possible to add the feature for fast scrolling in the contacts ? maybe with letter´s?

another quetion, there save the received video media in a directory, because there no open it.

Re: [Announce] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

Coderus, thanks a lot.
Syncing does not crash any more. However, I still cannot sync my whole phonebook. There seem to be some contacts which somehow interrupt the sync process. Sync part by part and leaving out certain contacts works, though.

Same problem for me in the UK. No indication that the request for verification has got as far as their servers, as I can exit the app and go back to square one with no advice to wait.

Installed directly to v0.1-7

Either Whatsapp are very behind on their sms sending, or...

I wonder if the "my number" field on the SIM card needs to match the number you enter - mine doesn't after I ported a number in.

Anyway, top marks to coderus, your work is much appreciated
