Coderus i suppose you are misunderstanding me. I respect all Your work and indiegogo way of fund rising, i have already make a donation, i mean that u had better to delete referring to mitakuluu, cause it SEEMS that u are the Developer so they can involve u in legal problem...:D its a suggest For u that are a medium and a basic skilled Developer, able to do only some patch ;)

Also, last news are showed facebook only can block/suspend developer accounts on facebook/instagram/whatsapp and can't do anything more presonally against developers. So it's just sandbox wars.

Re: Some news about Mitakuuluu development

I understand that an anonymous coder is developing a new native Sailfish version of Whatsapp. Does anyone know if it's going to be named Mitakuuluu and when is it likely to be available?

coderus 2015-04-14 15:58

Re: Some news about Mitakuuluu development

Applicatrion name: Mitakuuluu3
Package name: mitakuuluu3
Beta1 ETA: End of April.

deiv 2015-04-15 09:38

Re: Some news about Mitakuuluu development

this anonymous dev knows if the beta 1 will be released for the early users (like whatsup)?
this dev also knows if this beta will be released for ubuntu too?

Current development is for SailfishOS, Beta1 release means finishing libwa and common api, and it will be possible to start porting it to other platforms using Qt.

Re: Some news about Mitakuuluu development

Hey Coderus,

I waited for a long time for the new version of Mitakuuluu and finally installed Whatsup by Cepi! I registered without any issues and then uninstalled Mitakuuluu 2.0.

Whatsup works well, but still would want to see whats the new Mitakuuluu's got in store for us! I am not a developer, so in layman terms, what is the difference between the two?

Thank You!

(I have made a small contribution to you, will make some more soon!)

Re: Some news about Mitakuuluu development

Good question, meet.vino! Whatsup is working well for me for the time being but I was and still am a Mitakuuluu fan so I do wanna switch to Mitakuuluu 3.0 by the end of April regardless of it being different from Whatsup or not. But still, it's a good question: what will be the difference? :)

coderus 2015-04-15 16:52

Re: Some news about Mitakuuluu development

Sorry, i didn't used Whatsup so much and i can be wrong, but anyway.
Differences will be available in Beta1:
* end-to-end encryption for private chats
* full support of broadcast lists
* Sailfish native look & feel
* opensource
Will be available later:
* Web chat (scanning QR code by phone)
* Sailfish sharing menu integration

Awesome! BTW, coderus, will Mitakuuluu use the same database scheme or there will be some changes?

No, it will use new database, but probably it will have options to import conversations.

YAWCF (YetAnotherWhatsappClientFeature) - who really needs this on Sailfish/Harmattan?

And why Google drive (hidden appdata folder) instead of facebook cloud?

Re: Some news about Mitakuuluu development

Hey CodeRus,

If possible, can we have smiley/emoji keyboard integrated into this new version?

coderus 2015-04-21 12:42

Thank you for your response Coderus, it would have been nice if it were possible. Any idea why the emoji keyboard is not working after the update? Is it a bug of some kind or is it meant to be this way? Will it be rectified in the next update? I know I should be asking Jolla these questions, but since you are one of the best developers out there, thought you might know.

Hope you are considering whatever is necessary to display properly on higher resolution screens also, to avoid issues like that Whatsup is having on Nexus 5.

That is great Coderus. Thank you.

Whatsup may be affected by this bug?

if pixel_ratio is not from a predefined set, icons will default to 1.0 resolution
