Re: [Announce] gpscon gps position cli shell console
My quick hack for the Jolla C was to use cron to run gpscon a few minutes before I need the fix. (I used tout=60 and runs=5).
Then a few minutes later my python script runs, and works through the gpscon log, from the bottom up, looking for a fix with suitable horizontal accuracy. It's been running for months with no problem, I only looked back into it because my python script wouldn't run on the X at first - something to do with dbus-python and something else in my regex, nothing at all to do with gpscon :) |
Re: [Announce] gpscon gps position cli shell console
I just found this nice CLI tool. Thanks Halftux for making this!
I was wondering where I can find the latest source, as I might want to tweak it for my purpose. |

Re: [Announce] gpscon gps position cli shell console
Maybe this is interesting for sfos users. I uploaded a tool so called gpstoggle which toggles the gps chip power and the location permission.
So now you could change the status via remote access, script, cron and so on. Only thing is that you need root rights. gpstoggle edit: tested with sailfish 3.0.0.8 and it changes on a really safe way a systemfile /etc/location/location.conf. But when this file get changed in future releases this app could fail. |

Re: [Announce] gpscon gps position cli shell console
Our beloved N900 faces this gps date problem explained here:
https://www.zdnet.com/article/some-g...after-april-6/ :( Will see where and how to fix this. As a quick fix I could add an option to use the device date. Or do you have any other ideas? |
Re: [Announce] gpscon gps position cli shell console
For the upcoming 0.0.13 release there is a new option where you can add a shift to the date in number of days. The N900 has a shift by 7168 days. I did not check if the N9 has the same problem.
Option to correct the date: Code:
dshift=7168 |
All times are GMT. The time now is 19:15. |
