Re: Have we been turned over?
There's really no satisfactory answer for most people until they are actually shipping the device. That unfortunately is not today - according to website, it's later in the year (November, I think).

Re: Have we been turned over?
Frankly I never thought 4 years would slip by before the project was completed...
Now .. As the years have passed by... ARE passing by... when / if.. finally... the device IS shipped.. at that time.. it is quite possible... the relevancy and functionality of the device in that "World of Tomorrow"... will be the great issue. On a side note... The title of the thread .. "Have we been turned over?" I wondered for a while what that really meant.. and it just hit me... I believe the proper slang is... "Have we been rolled?" |

And as it was meant, yeah We were ensured sometime ago that shipping will come sooner, yeah, when it comes within this year, yeah, sure, yeah, satisfaction will and with useability. Now low income devices that costs for around 50-100$ with 1gb ram and four core cpu are the standard and we are waiting for someting not even similiar comparing to the hardware. I don't want to think more of it, but 1000€ for device slightly better than n900 8 years later not sound as choice of free and independent mind, but choice of full. |
Re: Have we been turned over?
Although I'm somewhat disappointed by the delays, at least I'll be paying much less for the final product due to the 2% per month interest earned on my initial donation.
I'm still satisfied that progress is being made. Commits are still being pushed regularly to the public git repos. I just checked the website and it seems I missed that more news was posted on Christmas Day. It looks promising in my opinion. |
Re: Have we been turned over?
So here we are in middle of July and the last news from the Neo900 website is from late 2016
Bought a N900 in very good condition for this project some time ago but already sold it http://neo900.org/ If they can't handle it just let it go |
Re: Have we been turned over?
There is quite often progress seen from following IRC channels. I haven't been following much, but yesterday there was confirmation about a telephony issue with 'Devuan' being solved (with my understanding, it being relevant with the neo900?).
