Re: Sailfish OS on Sony Xperia X (community build)
Hi all
Just flash the community image on my F5122, work fine. I also enable 2 SIM and functioning. I can use for daily phone, but a minor problem: - Ofono not stable, it crash some time and could not be restarted. I must manully run: systemctl restart ofono. Anyone has this issue and how to fix? Thank all. |
Re: Sailfish OS on Sony Xperia X (community build)
I flashed it and it booted sailfish, went through setting the time zone and sat through the tutorial, and then it's forever a spinning icon, no desktop (been 12 minutes so far) - anyone else have this issue?
Edit: so I've discovered that it's just the lock screen that's locked up, but it can be swiped away to access other apps. So, my quick review of this build:

How is that possible since on paper the xperiax has quite reasonable sensor and optical path? (for a mobile device, of course... as a real camera it is just as crap as everything else weighing under at least 400 grams of glass....) |

In the end, wlan got fixed by flashing back to stock android 6 (with the Android downgrade procedure from sailfishmods.de); then re-flashing sfos and it's still working so far. I still have to try and reproduce, but my initial guess would be that it's linked to me trying to connect to two hidden WLAN networks with the same SSID, one on 2.4 GHz and one on 5 GHz. Detecting those networks is also not entirely stable, it usually doesn't see the hidden 5 GHz network even when sitting right next to the AP. |

I'd be tempted to reflash and try again on that one, everyone else seems to be having much better luck |
Re: Sailfish OS on Sony Xperia X (community build)
What about multiboot?
Has someone tried? It could be great to have both stock Android and Sailfish on the same device... at least for me. |
Re: Sailfish OS on Sony Xperia X (community build)
flash alert!
https://blog.jolla.com/sailfish-x-new-sales-start-day/ Buy it and support the refund program. Or Buy it and support jolla. Or Wtf just buy it! Your choice! Enjoy! It's finally happing. Edit: Damn it. Incorrect thread :( Should I worry about that Xperia X is missing? https://developer.sonymobile.com/ope...ported_phones/ |
Re: Sailfish OS on Sony Xperia X (community build)
Tried to write this this morning, but apparently something ate my post.
I had some issues with wlan completely disappearing which might be useful to mention here. - I first flashed m4r0v3r's original build (the mega.nz download), which worked as well as could be expected, including wlan - The only issue with that image was that it didn't have support for Jolla accounts or the store, so I then reflashed to the second image from the first post of this thread - To my surprise, wlan didn't work at all. During initial setup I got the prompt to select a wireless network, but it said that wlan was off and no matter how many times I tapped the button to switch it on, nothing happened. - After skipping setting up wifi, I found that the entire wlan device was just not there. Messages in dmesg seem to indicate that the wlan card just doesn't power up correctly anymore. - Rebooting doesn't help, re-flashing sfos doesn't help After some investigation by #sailfishos-porters (Thank you sledges and vknecht!), it seems that the only workaround is to: - re-flash Android (I used the downgrade procedure from sailfishosmods.de to flash back to Marshmallow) - go through the setup procedure for Android and connect it to a wireless network (just discovered this: it doesn't work if you reboot before actually having connected to a network) - then switch off and flash sfos again I thought it had something to do with my setup: I have the same network on both 2.4 and 5 GHz with different BSSIDs and hidden SSID. Only enabling the 2.4 GHz network does not seem to make a difference, I'll try unhiding the SSID when I next get some time to reflash. |

If flashing will still be possible with the current way then yes. Fastboot is available in the android-tools package and the normal make_ext4fs binary should work. |

@m4r0v3r: Hi, can you check the email notification issue (post #2) too, if you build a new image? Thanks.

What did you mean with "regression" ? If i do only zypper up - i get things updated, but not the package droid-hal-f5121-img-boot-3.10.84.20170220.1-10.2.2.jolla.armv7hl.rpm When i do zypper dup - i get also droid-hal-f5121-img-boot updated and Bluetooth Mac is visible after restart. But BT still can't be activated. My daily Driver is Jolla C atm, i only play around with Xperia X, before it get official build. |

Re: Sailfish OS on Sony Xperia X (community build)
Is the community build based on SFOS 2.1.2? What is new in it compared to 2.1.1? Do we finally get better browser?
|
Re: Sailfish OS on Sony Xperia X (community build)
Quote:
Community build can't have higher version than that, what Jolla has alredy released. Jolla need to release 2.1.2 even for Every Access. Before that - nobody could build 2.1.2.xx |
