Re: N900 Problem list.
I lookat it as I would my laptop.......theye no t perfect and you will occsionaly get shutdowns unexpected errors (that never return). Nothing is perfect.I have my days when I wish I had a iphone or desire.....that moment soon passes when I release that they only do whats on the box..........N900 you can do what you like there is no boundries. So do your research and then decide what you want the device todo. I chose the N900 and I am not disapointed (frustrared sometimes may I add lol).
Good luck with your choice. |

I'd even add that the experience of using and navigating on the last gen of iPhone (3G) is in whole still generally smoother and more fluid than the N900. |

The argument is not on whether he made a valid comparison, it's his claim 'never own other phone that is not Nokia' questionable: http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p...&postcount=188 You own both devices so of course you can testify. However, in this regard, have you taken into account that, under the same CPU condition, N900 has 800x480 pixels and multitasking, while iPhone only has 480x320 pixels and selective tasking? |

http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php...933#post547933 But that's part of Nokia's design decision isn't it? Those improvements are chalked up as N900's positive points on a different list and they have to bear the compromises of their design decisions as cons on this list. Moreover, the UI smoothness issue has been discussed and attributed to software issue that could be addressed without any hardware changes. So in the end, it's not hardware limitation afterall... they're design deficiencies. |

Do we want another iPhone clone? The last paragraph of your reply has already been strayed away from our initial argument on "UI comparison between N900 and iPhone". I'd rather start another thread elsewhere because I don't want to open too many discussions in this tiresome thread. I hope you don't mind. |

Let's not make wrongful assumptions and harshly act on them in a level headed discussion. |

I just want to say I agree that iPhone is smoother in UI, but since hardware-wise N900's overhead is higher, the comparison is unfair. Quote:

I also think that you will have to eat your own words when this deficiency is fixed in the future (unofficial MeeGo for N900, maybe). |
