Re: Extra Decoders Support for the N900
I'm downgrading ogg-support:
apt-get install --reinstall ogg-support=1.0.5 apt-get remove --purge gstreamer0.10-maemo-xiph gstreamer0.10-av tracker-extractor-flac after that flac files are played, but media player does not show metadata. fix it only after: apt-get install --reinstall ogg-support=1.0.6~rc1 |
Re: Extra Decoders Support for the N900
after i reinstalled the latest ogg support, playing with someplayer seems to be normal again...

Re: Extra Decoders Support for the N900
I recently noticed that my N900 refused to play .flac files for me.
After removing Extras-devel and uninstalling ogg-support and decoders support, then reinstalling them, flac files work once again. Let's hope that there soon will be a new release in Extras-devel which fixes this. However it is outrageous that you uploaded a broken package. At least please test the basic usability before uploading it. |
Re: Extra Decoders Support for the N900
updated to today's gstreamer0.10-av 0.5-6.
flac files playing works again. no more need for downgrading! |
Re: Extra Decoders Support for the N900
can confirm it. flacs are playing now and seeking has been fixed. Would be nice if there would be 'official' announcements.
Also can the maintainer please comment on which packages this replaces e.g. which gstreamer packages can be removed. Or even better put this into the control file. |
Re: Extra Decoders Support for the N900
hi i keep getting this message when reverting back to a earlier version of ogg.
Could not get files by MIME type, Did not receive a reply. Possible causes include: the remote application did not send a reply, the message bus security policy blocked the reply, the reply timeout expired, or the network connection was broken. i typed this to revert apt-get install --reinstall ogg-support=1.0.5 it repeats the above message about 5 times and in the end ogg is still installed. i'd unistalled prior due to the alarm clock alert problem then this morning i noticed a newer version of ogg like a div i installed it. any idea's? update : looked up installed programs and ogg.1.0.5 was installed, never remembered all the notices showing before. shall i continue with apt-get autoremove to remove packages gstreamer0.10-av, gstreamer0.10-maemo-xiph and tracker-extractor-flac. |
Re: Extra Decoders Support for the N900
I would enable the devel repository and update ogg-support without downgrading.
latest update does not have the alarm clock alert or any other problem that I can see. |
Re: Extra Decoders Support for the N900
updating this morning is what brought the problem back.
i haven't needed to autoremove the other packages and the alarm problem has now disapeared. will keep trying ogg updates when they occur and the problem is finally sorted. |
Re: Extra Decoders Support for the N900
I've searched the thread and I have found 2 or 3 matches without any particular answer, so, here I'll ask:
Can someone download any new video (480p and down - mp4 won't play because is bigger than 800x480) in .flv from youtube and try to play using the EDS? In my device it will just not work, will try to play and say that the media format is not valid. And I can't use other players because the main player is the only one that will catch the bluetooth requests (pause, next, prior) after locking the phone. Here is an example of the type of file failing: Code:
