I think that might be the opaque screen cover that's been rumored to come on the device in box. There was some discussion that people couldn't see the transparent one Nokia used to use, and thought the screen was easily scratchable when it was really the cover, so it was replaced.

Elisa Corporate Customer service just confirmed that N900 will be available next week here in Finland...

Elkjop.no (Norwegian electronics store) just sent me an update on my order and the status is now: "Sent"!!

So if I'm lucky I will recieve the phone tomorrow or on Wednesday!

I would not get my hopes too high, mine has been "sent" as far as Elkjop web-status is concerned since the last time time changed the availability date. I ordered mine 3rd Oct, it was "sent" and charged around 15th Oct, but I have yet not received nothing. Last info from them was a SMS a few days ago telling me that deliveries will start beginning Dec. I could be wrong of course ....

i had to change my order with Nokia via live call on thursday last week....andnow cannot check the status online...however my old order number still shows as pre-ordered...and not "canceled"

usually, by the time i get an email from nokia saying it was shipped, i have it that day, or the next....because thier system is always at least 1-2 days behind in sending the email out.

so if i get my "shipped" email tomorrow (today, being that it is 12:30AM here...as i type this on my booklet 3g!) then i expect it today 16th, or tomorrow 17th.

I think the info was accurate. The man I spoke with really checked the status from somewhere and not just uttered some random line like "yeah you may got it next week or something..."

Expecting this to be the busiest thread today, lets hope we have some good news - I for one will be hassling MPD at every opportunity I get and will post here if I find out anything.
Im really hoping I can get mine for tommorrow as it would be great to take it to the n900 meetup

If Nokia announced shipping Monday of last week to retailers to fulfill pre-order's than why are pre-order's having to wait till Dec. 25?

Seems like Nokia sweden has gotten some cancellations.
Just gave them a call:
Me: Hi, Im calling regarding my pre-order.
Nokia: You're calling to cancel your N900-order?
Me: Yeah?
Nokia: *sigh* ok, whats your order number?
Me: XXXX
Nokia: *sigh* ok, its cancelled

Got the felling that I wasnt the first one...

Those who ordered through MPD may receive it today or tomorrow because their staff is really very busy in making deliveries of N900'z they hv got but they dont want to disclose ...

Have they told you anything? - My pre-order is still listed as pending stock, but I expect that they'll get delayed throughout the day processing incoming stock, so I wasn't expecting anything to happen much before lunch time.... if anyone hears anything definitive from MPD could they post here pls?

I think this is incredible....
The phone will be out for the 24th December... santa will come to deliver it...
And probably in Italy will be a Vodafone exclusive... but there is no way to get an answer from Nokia.

that's been there for quite a while - 5 or 6 days at least. Sorry, I don't think it really means much. It's the retailers who we need to hear from!
