Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic

sounds like you have missed a step somewhere as that error tends to mean something to do with memory card or similar

Reffyyyy 2010-06-07 16:52

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic

I may have partitioned the card wrong. I got quite confused on that part of the guide.

Any chance you could help me with it?

Errm... I get an error:

getbootstate: invalid selection

2) MMC
9) Start a shell

Does anyone know what this means?

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic

Hey i was wondering if someone could help us out! I'v flashed my N900 countless times! So i know what im doing, BUT, i installed android, had a little play, was seriously impressed! but, came to put maemo back on, and like the initial screen is weird, but the keyboard stays lit from the sides (Side LED's stay on), even when the slider is closed (can be viewed from the side in the dark), any suggestions??

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic

Ahh thanks, but I'm a noob and don't really know what i'm doing lol. It could just be my memory card formatting.. I have:
p1 12.83 fat32 empty
p2 2.00 gb ext3 with android files

dj_steve 2010-06-07 21:07

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic

looks fine their, are all files extracted to mem card etc

6sicSIX 2010-06-07 21:08

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic

Yep extracted android7.tar.gz to /media/android/ using root terminal. I just didn't want to reflash again because takes all night to get my apps back so i used e-yes's

dj_steve 2010-06-07 21:09

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic

you can just flash the kernel without flashing rest of system you know

e-yes 2010-06-07 21:10

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic

try flash stock kernel back.
1. remove battery
2. run flasher (flasher-3.5 -F ../RX-51_2009SE_10.2010.19-1_PR_COMBINED_MR0_ARM.bin -f --flash-only=kernel -R for instance).
3. attach usb cable
4. insert battery

6sicSIX 2010-06-07 21:12

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic

Ahh never knew that lol, not too bothered though cuz it looks good when maemo starts up like this.
Unless it would help to get android running?

dj_steve 2010-06-07 21:16

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic

not sure what you mean

6sicSIX 2010-06-07 21:20

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic

I mean I like seeing the system initialise instead of just the nokia screen.
Right, I'm going to go and use your kernel.. back in a bit it I fail lol

dj_steve 2010-06-07 21:23

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic

remember to use kernel from page 30 and rootfs from couple pages back

6sicSIX 2010-06-07 21:24

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic

Okay, thanks

6sicSIX 2010-06-07 21:48

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic

dj_steve 2010-06-07 21:49

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic

6sicSIX 2010-06-07 21:55

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic

6sicSIX 2010-06-07 22:02

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic

No filesystem could not mount root, tried: ext3
kernel panic - not syncing: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on unknown-block(179,2)
android_usb gadget: high speed config #1: android
android_usb gadget: high speed config #1: android
android_usb gadget: high speed config #1: android
_

bad MicroSD setup?

dj_steve 2010-06-07 22:03

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic

Heck mem card is formatted as ext3 and also tht back cover is on phone

6sicSIX 2010-06-07 22:08

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic

i know it's ext3 on p2, and back cover is deff on..
Ah.. on the phone it says
2096482 mmcblk0p1
13454406 mmcblk0p2

does this mean that my 2gb partition is actually p1? On ubuntu it shows as p2...

dj_steve 2010-06-07 22:17

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic

Yep looks like its mixed up lol try again i suggest

6sicSIX 2010-06-07 22:18

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic

I've tried to boot it again with same result, shall I repartition the MicroSD the other way around?

dj_steve 2010-06-07 22:41

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic

Probably wise either way android has to be on partition 2 in ext3 partition

6sicSIX 2010-06-07 22:43

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic

Okay, thanks for your help :)

6sicSIX 2010-06-07 22:58

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic

Right, swapped the partitions around and it does the exact same thing.. Seems to always make the 2gb partition p1...

Guys, If you don't know what you're doing I'd wait. I hate to see DJSteve spending so much time answering "I bricked my phone" type questions. I'm not calling anyone out here it's more of a general observation about this thread.

i think you're right, maybe we should make another thread or something at the nitdroid page to help users through the process.

if you follow exactly the steps on page 30 there shouldn't be any problems (i had none related to the guide :) )

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic

Yeah I guess you are right lol, I don't want to waste his time when he could be working on NITDroid.

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic

I'm going to test (using all downloads from pg30) and report back.

All I want is working dual boot (with OC support for Maemo). :D

6sicSIX 2010-06-08 09:10

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic

Don't you need the newer rootfs from page 72?

dj_steve 2010-06-08 09:47

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic

the newer rootfs just gives wifi support either root will work but the page 30 one is not much use since nt alot works
