Re: overclocking kernel modules + UI for PR1.2 [ko v1.5.3] [ui v1.2.0]

hi creamy can you set up a paypal link for donations instead as i've received my two donations via Wepay back. this is due to me being based out of usa.

edit: just saw your first post with the paypal link. sorry for the inconvenience.

Creamy Goodness 2012-05-10 17:51

Re: overclocking kernel modules + UI for PR1.2 [ko v1.5.3] [ui v1.2.0]

Yeah i deleted WePay actually, there should be a paypal link wherever you saw the wepay one.
They cancelled all the donations anyone sent me, maybe because I'm in Canada, or maybe they just suck.

Re: overclocking kernel modules + UI for PR1.2 [ko v1.5.3] [ui v1.2.0]

ya its due to the canada thing. i received an email from their ceo stating that they only have jurisdiction to operate within usa.

Mine says something like this.. OC on boot is disabled, not set, or couldn't read QSettings object.

Okay, I found a few more hours to work on this. I think it's working correctly now, but you guys will have to test it and make sure. I can't even explain what was wrong, just trust me that QML is a shitty shitty language that nobody should have to use.

Re: overclocking kernel modules + UI for PR1.2 [ko v1.5.3] [ui v1.2.2]

I just installed opp version 1.2.2, everything went fine via terminal, only that once I open it there's nothing but the black screen, as if the ui simply wasn't there...

tried again, terminal sets it alright, actual app is still black...?

zapotek 2012-05-11 01:49

Re: overclocking kernel modules + UI for PR1.2 [ko v1.5.3] [ui v1.2.2]

Exactly the same thing happened to me

Re: overclocking kernel modules + UI for PR1.2 [ko v1.5.3] [ui v1.2.2]

looks like I'm not alone...
I re-incepted both opptimizer and ui, terminal says everything's fine...the actual app is still all black...

Re: overclocking kernel modules + UI for PR1.2 [ko v1.5.3] [ui v1.2.2]

The problem is one of the folders got some capital letters in it even though I didn't change anything to do that. I just deleted it and built it again, can you guys try again? I uploaded a new copy and it works for me. Sometimes the builds get screwed up when I copy files between computers, it starts missing files and stuff. Qt Creator is like a woman... I must not be treating her right :P

Re: overclocking kernel modules + UI for PR1.2 [ko v1.5.3] [ui v1.2.2]

I'm sorry, still the same...

Re: overclocking kernel modules + UI for PR1.2 [ko v1.5.3] [ui v1.2.2]

What? Really?
Try to uninstall the old one by typing dpkg -r opptimizer-ui
I'll rename the file in the first post in case it's getting cached somewhere.
I swear I tested it this time, the old one really was broken and this one really works for me anyways... Only difference should be that I uninstalled.

Re: overclocking kernel modules + UI for PR1.2 [ko v1.5.3] [ui v1.2.2]

I forgot to mention, the new version is writing the output from the benchmark into a file, test.pbm in your mydocs folder.
If you're really bored you can see what it drew :)
I decided we are going to take the md5 hash of that file and see if it's correct, then we have a better idea of if the overclock is stable.

Re: overclocking kernel modules + UI for PR1.2 [ko v1.5.3] [ui v1.2.2]

I do agree she is really delicate and stubborn! It's only her way or no way :D

I don't see that test.pbm file in MyDocs..

Well, it's not there if you never OPPtimize.. :D

Well it should be, but the next version i upload deletes it automatically since it can be quite large. It's 2 am here so I'm just going to upload it now, hopefully not any new bugs... Gimmie 5 min to update the first post again.

Keep finding bugs, you will get new versions :(

If anyone has the time, and doesn't mind the risk, try some bad overclocks and see if it detects the benchmark failed. I have no idea if it will work, but I spent some time calculating the correct md5 hash of all the possible test results, so it can warn you when it's not correct. I just don't know if the math it does is complex enough to have problems...

something hapening after new install when iam opening the radio after 1 minutes the phone is slower than ever

Creamy Goodness 2012-05-11 08:29

Re: overclocking kernel modules + UI for PR1.2 [ko v1.5.3] [ui v1.2.3]

oh, there's one weird bug I couldn't figure out in the last 2 versions, it loads the wrong profile (or no profile) when you first start the app. Not sure why because it works when I run the app as a different user from the debugger, which makes absolutely no sense to me...
Just reload profile 1 or whatever when you start it for now

-edit- fixed
just download it again, same version #

What's the problem?

like this.

/usr/sbin/incept /home/user/MyDocs/.downloads/opptimizer-ui_1.2.3_armel.deb.

If the file is in that folder.

I know, I know, thanks anyway;)
I hoped it would not be neccesary to incept it again. What if I rename it to the same letters install it again and reset my n9 :D
But this proceedure is long as it would be to incept it again.
