Have the same problem. I think is the option "Allow Internetconnection in Background".
Have you activate it?

I had to install 1.2.5 because 1.2.4 would not connect again.
It works like CRAP, severely slow.

Why would you use old versions anyway, if it's working like CRAP, go use another client ;)

I don't see any need to turn them off since you can remove all of them easy and fast.

CepiPerez.
I'm a happy user of your wonderful app. I'm suffering the "Server response was: blocked".
I've posted a bug on your bitbucket issue forum, offering myself to help you solve this issue, in case you had no time to do so, in case your app's code was available for download somewhere.
Please, let me help you. I really need a fully functional Whatsup.
Contact me asap, so that this bug can be fixes asap.
Thanks,
m.

Re: Whatsup - Harmattan client

Since about a week ago Whatsup (v1.2.5) no longer works for me; it cannot connect -- it attempts, but fails. Repeated attempts eventually gives me the "Register" button, but pressing that button returns "Server response was: Blocked".

Is anyone still successfully using Whatsup, and if so, what are you doing differently?

Re: Whatsup - Harmattan client

Close Whatsapp via Menu "close app". Then restart App.
Or restart phone and start whatsapp

Does it work?

HtheB 2015-07-17 01:23

Re: Whatsup - Harmattan client

Blocked means that you are BANNED from the WhatsApp servers!!!
There is NO WAY to fix this!!!!! Only WhatsApp itself can unban you.

I think WhatsApp figured out how Whatsup works and starts actively banning people now

Not really helpful. Don't you think I tried that the first thing I did? Do you honestly think people who use non-standard software on the N9 wouldn't know well enough to restart (and if that fails, the phone itself) that software when malfunctioning?

I was kind of fearing that this would be the case :(

I guess it'd be pretty pointless to ask for an unban until there's a new version of whatsup out. But if Whatsapp has started banning third party clients I suspect we're pretty screwed in the long run anyway.

@DavidWeinehall
a user with 4 posts in 3 years for me is suspect as a dumb user.
And before i go deeply in search for errors. With this type of users i start at the very beginning.
You now that swipe from the above dont close Whatsapp? You have to do it with the menu "down right corner"

Making assumptions is generally a bad thing. Just saying. The reason I only have 4 posts in 3 years is because I rarely need help... And I don't see how you could possibly could infer a correlation between frequency of posts and intelligence.

If you re-read my reply to your post you'll note that I mention having even rebooted the phone. Is that good enough for you? And yes, of course I do know the difference between closing the whatsapp UI and actually quitting the program.

(PS: I worked at Nokia with OSSO/Maemo/Meego on the 770, N800, N810, N810 Wimax, N900, N950 and N9. Just FYI.)

Yes, jump from evil to less evil. Telegram do not ban users and do not fight against developers. Not yet.

Seems like Whatsup's "resource" needs to be updated:

My Nokia S40 from work informs me about an update of whatsapp to version 2.12.89. Maybe there was some kind of change in the protocol.

I have the same problem. Something must have been changed in the protocol because WA stopped working in my friend's Android phone too (she didn't update it for a while).

Re: Whatsup - Harmattan client

Is Whatsup for Meego using S60 or S40 protocol?

Looking at official Whatsapp download page it seems that there have been some updates the last weeks (checked it with web.archive -> https://web.archive.org/web/*/https:...app.com/nokia/)
