UK people: Argos have the sim-free X in black on offer at £229 (there maybe an additional small saving through quidco/topcashback).

Re: Sailfish OS (officially) on Sony Xperia devices
Just ordered mine, newish second hand. Now the waiting starts for the port including Alien Dalvik. Fingers crossed!
FYI: I paid 180 euro for a black one. Rose Gold seems cheaper ;) |
Re: Sailfish OS (officially) on Sony Xperia devices
Got mine from Ebay germany. for 199,- eur.
The F5121 is one of the Xperia X offered @ ALDI in Germany. Condition is Like new, but the box was opened. No Branding, No Sim-Lock. Anything is working fine. Came wis Android 7.0. Downgraded to 6.0, created TA-Partition-Backup (DRM) and unlocked Bootloader. http://www.ebay.de/itm/Sony-XPERIA-X...53.m2749.l2649 |

Afterwards you can extract TA-Partition (DRM-Keys) and upgrade to your CDA (Android 7.1.1) again. The whole process of Downgrade, TA-Extraction and Bootloader Unlock is very well described here. But its unfortunately in German. http://sailfishmods.de/2017/07/howto...ys-bootloader/ |

Other manufacturers will just display you a warning screen (like Motorola) or lose warranty or can't do future OTA but won't have a functional loss as Sony. |
Re: Sailfish OS (officially) on Sony Xperia devices
If you unlock bootloader without saving DRM-keys and TA, are they lost forever? (cannot get them back by flashing something, or by any means?) islosing DRM-keys and TA preventing me from installing Sailfish? (I understood features that require them aren't going to be ported by jolla anyway?) Or is backing them up only for if you want to return to Android stock ROM? Thanks.

Re: Sailfish OS (officially) on Sony Xperia devices
So, got my new XperiaX F5121 Graphite Black 1302-3093 Rev4 yesterday.
Well - it is very small in comparison of my Nexux 6. Maybe even too small... :p And a lot of bloat preinstalled... Probably don't care of DRM keys. Now waiting for Sailfish OS ;) But also OmniROM is supporting XperiaX very well and there are recent improvements in the area of camera: https://forum.xda-developers.com/xpe...nirom-t3603055 |
