Make sure it is not mounted. Just to be sure run "Close Debian" in advance. Then run (adjust the path): Code:
fsck /path/to/debian.image Code:
rsync debian.image debian.backup Code:
rsync debian.backup debian.image |

Re: Easy Debian Fremantle Beta Testing
I have a problem.
I had to flash the N900. Had a copy of "Easy Debian" custom. I need to install it again without having to download the image from the network. How I can do? Thanks |
Re: Easy Debian Fremantle Beta Testing
WhiteWolf, did you lose / erase your MyDocs directory? If not, your image should still be there, intact.

Re: Easy Debian Fremantle Beta Testing
this is almost certainly a n00b question, but in the EasyDebian chroot environment, I can't change LC_CTYPE.
I want to change LC_CTYPE, because I use subversion to keep the file synced with my desktop/laptop machines, but some of those filenames use UTF8 encoding. Just setting 'export LC_CTYPE=en_AU.UTF-8' works, but I can't execute the same command within a script! For example, setting /root/.bashrc to a single line containing 'export LC_CTYPE=en_AU.UTF-8' doesn't work. Executing the .bashrc file from the command line (either with the execute bit set, or with 'sh') doesn't work either. This really puzzles me, since throughout the web I can see examples where people have set LC_CTYPE from within a script such as .bashrc or .zshrc |
Re: Easy Debian Fremantle Beta Testing
you can use this command to set all: localedef -i en_AU -f UTF-8 en_AU

Re: Easy Debian Fremantle Beta Testing
Hi guys. Lil help needed here. I have been using ED for a while and decided to install a few apps through Synaptic pkg mngr. after i updated the catalogues searched a few things to see if it was there i then closed it without installing anything. BUT, when i went to go check in Maemo, my Rootfs suddenly only had 55meg left, from 92meg before opening Synaptic. And "apt-get clean" didnt help. Can any of you?

Re: Easy Debian Fremantle Beta Testing
Ele-Mental: Installing apps in Easy Debian has no impact on your Maemo rootfs. Everything is happening in the "virtual disk drive" image file in your MyDocs folder...
