As far as the dependencies, if someone wants to get them to me (tps at buoy dot com), I'll upload them. I grabbed what I could off the repositories as it would let me. Tim |
Re: The itT Canola2 Beta discussion thread
No excuse for such a piss-poor repository. NO excuse.
Folks have known for a LOOOONG time now that the "official" repositories had crap for bandwidth yet the Canola2 developers STILL decided to go and release a major application on it? That's not just "oops", that's "pretty damn stupid". I don't care if they wrote the best application on the planet, when they fail the common-sense test they fail, period. They even had a recent hint when folks had to re-host the official OS2008 firmware for the N800. That was MUCH larger than Canola2 and yet only took me 10 minutes to download from somewhere OTHER than the official Nokia website hosting it. Yup, I'm pretty much going to ignore Canola2 until the developers figure out how the internet works and get it hosted on a REAL repository with some bandwidth. It's almost 2008, there is not one single excuse for not having the bandwidth nor the stable servers to host Canola2. Maybe if this were 1998 I MIGHT understand, but no more. A single server on a T1 doesn't cut it at all. |

How can it be that others can reach it and I cant? Very odd... None of your links work for me. Quote:

Is it correct that WMA support isn't in this program?

Re: The itT Canola2 Beta discussion thread
I like to think that this was something that was unavoidable by the Canola team, but I'm sorry. I don't buy it. It's pretty well known and documented that anything hosted by maemo (firmware updates, repos, etc) get hosed pretty easily. Adding Canola to the mix didn't help anything.

Maybe a tarball for chinook at least. I'm trying to download the files to do this but its impossible even at this moment. The maemo servers never really did recover from any other OS release either, instead the 'solution' was kind members hosting the files elsewhere and/or on a torrent. I know I downloaded mine from a link someone provided here. |
Re: The itT Canola2 Beta discussion thread
