Re: Ovi Store for N900

Arghh... past new years, and when opening the Ovi Store icon in applications (N900), the browser freezes, and says not responding. The page title still says "Ovi Store coming soon" though...

The Nokia N900 page used to say "Software Update Coming Soon," now it doesn't.

Although... we all know when soon is... coughacouplemonthscough...

@sunnnz, did you say fring? Is it the same version available on the App Catalogs?

I have been to curious again and went not via ovi-store directly but http://maemo.nokia.com/maemo-select/...1/0/0/#content
works for me.
including frings, though i do not need that app so far.
have fun.
did download qik and it simply starts the apps manager.
if this is all nokia has for the ovi-store so far, well it is a bit lame but better than nothing.

That's not the Ovi store. That's Maemo select.

Go to the ovi store: http://store.ovi.com/

Then click on this: https://store.ovi.com/account/settin...900&fragment=1

The open the ovi store again. You will see something different. ;)

Re: Ovi Store for N900

I wonder when Nokia gets its act together with this Ovi stuff;

I just visited the Ovi Store again, which I haven't done in a while, tried to find the N900 in the device list but couldn't find it so I closed the dialog. Now I get every time an error message in the Flash video saying

faultCode:Server.Error.Request faultString:'null' faultDetail:'null'

I can tap on a button saying "null".

It is just so embarrassing for Nokia to have these kinds of errors on their services.

Hi Kypeli, did you follow Kathys instructions?

1)Go to the ovi store: http://store.ovi.com/

2) Log in to Ovi Store (Or register and then log in) (Won't work if you don't)

3)Visit this link,
https://store.ovi.com/account/settin...900&fragment=1
It will set your device to the N900 (Sometimes i have had to click it twice for it to work. - do it until you see a cheapy comic version of the N900 appear on the web page. That will mean the device has been set.)

4) The open the ovi store again. You will see something different.

Thanks for the tip! This hack did work for me too - cool :D

But you are right, I didn't do that, but I wanted to use the OVI Store first as a normal customer with an N900 :) And then I am faced with this error message. I didn't try to trick the OVI Store or anything and that is what irritates me even more than not having officially support for N900 in OVI Store.

lol well it's not open :)

I think many many reasons have been discussed here in the past few weeks, but it sounds like they are holding back for a reason. And also we are waiting for a new N900 patch/firmware update, Could mean these two events could happen at the same time? - a problem with either could be holding it up.

For now there are new applications being added daily into the extras repository :) - and the testing one is building up fast!

Was there anything you really really wanted in the ovi store?
