Re: [Announce] Advanced Geocaching Tool

um.... ok complete noob question coming up.......

How do I actually get geochaches on this thing? Do I need to download them? Where do I put them? I've been round in circles trying to get something on AGTL but the only method I could actually use was to get the location of a cache from the web then enter that location's coordinates as a target. Can't find/load any caches at all, even when I've put a target in myself. So there is something I'm not doing, but what?

Other than that, the direction and gps and map etc are all excelent, if only I could put some gpx files or something in there, and also perhaps use different maps it would be a 10 out of 10 app.

Hi!

Did you read the Quick Start Guide? I think it answers your questions.

hi,

i have to report parsing problems again. when dowloading details of a multicache only the startcoordinates are visible - not the stages (v0.8.0.4). can anyone confirm this?

offtopic: i also wanted to vote but i could not (perhaps missing garage account?)

regards

I'm preparing a version 0.8.0.5 for a release in the next days.

Just a note, you can add different maps yourself, as written here:
Using different map types in AGTL on Maemo

Depending on the map you want to add it could be a bit tricky to find correct format and URLs, but it's possible.

I've succesfully added Czech topo maps from from one tourist server, so now it's almost perfect ;-)

Can you post your settings here, so that other users can add them, too?

Re: [Announce] Advanced Geocaching Tool

Version 0.8.0.5 will be in the repositories in a few minutes.

Changes:
- Automatic updates: AGTL connects to search for parser updates on each startup. To disable this, go to options. No personal data is being transferred.
- New Tools Menu: Roman numbers, ROT13 and heading calculation (aka. coordinate projection)
- Improve waypoint display on the map
- Add connection detection: Faster map display in offline mode
- Fix parsing for multicaches
- Filter double coordinates from some lists

For users of 0.8.0.3, the parser update is available via the in-app update feature.

Thank you for the bugfixes and the new features! Greetinx

Of course, here's what I have added to /home/user/.agtl/config:

Code:

[
    "CykloatlasTuristicka",
        {
            "prefix": "CykloatlasTuristicka",
            "remote_url": "http://services.tmapserver.cz/tiles/gm/shc/%(zoom)d/%(x)d/%(y)d.png"
        }
]

It's a tourist map by Shocart, from http://www.cykloserver.cz/cykloatlas/
Map is publicly available at this website, I haven't found any notice about using it outside from their web...

In the current version, it only supports metric units.
