ok, so there are a few posts here that claim that most (if not all) phones will suffer some degree of reception loss if held in a certain way.

we've just done a little experiment here with 4 different phones: N900, samsung tocco, Iphone 3gs and an absolutely ancient motorola razr.

admittedly, this isn't exact science but we've just spent half an hour holding these phones in every way we could think of, moving around in different parts of the building.

the only one that consistently lost signal was the Iphone, particulalry when held with thumb and forefinger on the bottom left and top right.

we then spent the next half hour taking the p!ss out of the Iphone owner for having a cr@p phone.

any excuse to give an Iphone sheep a hard time, really.

The more I think about it the more ridiculous it seems that they would release a phone with such a flaw. Continuous calls and data are the core to any phone device.

I would be more understanding if it was a flaw that crept in over time.

Will still get one whether or not it gets fixed (don't mind laminating the sides or even a bumper) but will see if a corrected model is on the horizon. I am certainly not changing my phone holding habits though.

Problem solved.

Get an Apple iStick:

Made from genuine applewood. Only $10.

I call shenanigans!
With their innovative use of accelerometer, the picture would be right side up!

Maybe Lord Vader was using The Force to create the iPhone nano...
