I ordered my n900 from them with a t-mobile contract last month...

the eForum team are constantly asking people to keep an eye on the 'Coming soon' page
Unfortunately, what this ace journo hasn't realized is that this is the standard answer that you will get from any of the admins of the Voda forums. No matter what phone you ask about, it's always "we haven't heard anything, but keep checking the coming soon page'.

I hypothesize that this article was written towards the end of the working day. Journo dutifully rings up Orange, O2 and 3. Discovers it's 5.28 and he's still on hold for the Vodafone marketing department, thinks to himself, "fsck it, I'll have a quick look on their customer forums instead". Job done, out the door like a cruise missile at 5:30, propping up the bar with a pint by 5.32.

:D

Edit: In response to the question originally posed by this thread, the answer is "No it bastard well didn't", as I suspect will be the case for the next 6 days at least.

I just got off the phone with one of nokia representative and he said that nokia already shipped out to those who preordered and should receive the phone next week. However, i preordered from Amazon and just talked with them a minute ago and they said that they don't know when it's going to be in stock. This is really frustrating because it looks like the end of November is when they're starting to ship the phone and we can play with it next month

I called the NYC flagship store. They said they don't think they'll have them in by this weekend (I'm passing through NYC on Saturday), but they're taking people's names and numbers and promising a call when then get them in.

talked to sales it is confirmed that nokia is now starting to ship to nokia.com pre-orders as of yesterday, the earlier you pre-ordered your nokia n900, the faster you will get it!

they had no information on when stores outside nokia.com will be getting inventory though.

That is very nice of them to offer to do this. Especially given the huge interest..

will be keen to hear when they update you :)

I'll update when it happens. The clerk also said that they were probably going to do something special for the people on the list, either open early for them to pick up or close the store early to general customers so people on the list could come in and get. I'm only passing through NYC, going to be there on Saturday, so I'm just keeping my fingers crossed!

Nope! The $469 Dell US deal getters will. Dell is an official reseller and this would be the most ironic of all scenarios:

People that ordered the N900 under cost and just a few days ago get it before others that paid full price and preordered over a month ago ;)

I have no clue and think some people in Europe will get it first, but you got to admit that would be ironic :)

amazon offers $50 rebate so that makes it total price to be $509 which is a pretty good deal. I believe those who pre-order b4 this deal was on. It'll apply too

OK, my N900 just shipped from Nokia.fi webstore - just got the email like 10 minutes ago that is has shipped today with 1-3 days delivery time.

Pre-ordered not so long ago, maybe a little over a week ago.

Just got off the phone from a 30 minute call from 1 866 59 NOKIA agent who claimed to be a supervisor. I asked to speak to a supervisor, she said she was a supervisor and my call could not be escalated higher. She said that since that there was no tracking number associated with my order it was not likely to ship before Wednesday. She later admitted that NOKIA USA was not shipping preorder N900s.

I don't know how Dell or other companies work but when I talked to Amazon rep. She said that whoever pre-ordered 1st will get it 1st. And also chat with Dell rep. Apparently the N900 is out of stock and they're expecting the next shipment to be around 45 days and that is on or before FEBRUARY 2010 . Here's a part of conversation between me and him.

In line with extending our service, please feel free to provide your phone number so that we can call you just in case we got disconnected due to unavoidable server to computer link connection issues.

very good how about u
1:50:56 PM Agent E&A_R
I'm doing fine, thanks for asking =)
1:50:59 PM Customer Ken
i just have a quick question about the nokia n900 , do you guys have it instock? and that if i placed an order right now, when do i expect the shipment
1:52:54 PM Agent E&A_R
I'll be glad to assist you on that. May I have the Dell part number of the item which can be located below or just at the right side of the item in Dell.com ? For me to accurately check on its specifications and details
1:53:24 PM Customer Ken
Dell Part# : A3076016
1:55:24 PM Agent E&A_R
thank you
1:55:24 PM Agent E&A_R
give me one moment please
1:55:35 PM Customer Ken
ok
1:57:04 PM Agent E&A_R
thank you for waiting
1:57:09 PM Agent E&A_R
We are out of stock for it
1:57:19 PM Agent E&A_R
and I see we have a 45 days lead time for it
1:57:32 PM Agent E&A_R
so most probably , the estimated delivery date is on or before 02/2010
1:57:45 PM Customer Ken
so you meant that about 45 days for the next shipment?
1:58:11 PM Customer Ken
february of 2010?
1:58:29 PM Agent E&A_R
Yes that is correct
1:58:44 PM Customer Ken
okay, thanks
