Hey guys, i installed fcam via app manager in n900, rebooted and took a picture from fcam(n900)

Now my question,
the picture are in ".dng" format and i can open it only in fcam and cannot load it in n900 default pic viewer, also the picture format is not openable in win default pic viewer.
so how can i make the fcam take pic in other format? OR,
how can i make it visiable in default pic viewer in nokia n900?

Guys plz help me out on it ,, any suggestion would be appricatable ?

hi,
open fcam and slide out screen from ur finger towards down direction
,it will bring camera settings on screen. here you will find an option saying "suto save picture in .jpg in gallery "..

plz write if unable to do.
today i am very sad. i was shooting video from my n900 in train from window..few thief pulled my cell from my hand frm moving train......:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad ::mad::mad::mad::mad:

@AWasisto what settings you used to capture this pic "Speeding with The Speed Of Light" i really love to capture this kind of pics but dont know how to set camera settings to capture this kind of pictures.

Try this:

Exposure: 1s
Gain: ISO 100
Focus: >5m
WB: 5000
Brust: Single

Disstatisfied? Create a code using FCam API. You can simply modify the "example1" project in the FCam API source code package. Make a single shot, change the exposure time (in microsecond), make sure the gain was 1.0f (ISO 100), compile, run.

Or just extract and run my 2.5s (max) exposure time code below in /home/user/... :D

Maybe this is off topic,but i found one guide for the better picture from our n900

This does nothing. DSPjpeg encoder is hard coded to 85%. If you want 100% you need to either:

1. Use the 720p recording/playing stuff.
2. Switch to using the software encoder.

On 720p enabled libgstdsp the hard coded value has been increased to 100%.

A while ago I tried to use libgstdsp.so.stock ,but when I edit gdigicam-camerabin.conf to:

useconfigfile=true
[imageenc]
element=dspjpegenc
quality=95

camera goes into endless image processing..I have to reboot.

Don't want to sounds harsh, but this image would be *much* better, if You would use macro mode. And never, ever, put it closer than 5 cm.

Can I try too? I don't have photography skills but might as well use the camera, lol...

...so my wife participated in an essay-writing contest at her workplace in June of this year and won a 3-day trip for two to Ilocos Norte, Philippines. Nice place; it was my first time there and it's rich in Filipino history. I decided not to bring a digital camera and had to trust on the Nokia N900's camera.
