Why do we need a new way of sending messages?

I can't find where they actually spoke about new way of sending messages.

The source, Jollatides, is based on Digitoday story which is dated back to September 26th. Digitoday is basing their story on this: http://gigaom.com/europe/jolla-the-m...s-and-android/ . There Hurmola only says:

"We want to be the phone that handles messaging, calendars and so on in an inclusive way, so you can have concepts like the family in the device."

Old news, old misunderstandings.

Thats good news since I dont need a new way sending texts. Instead fix Copy paste every where, manage desktops, better mail client, more ways to config of the behaviour of the ui, better 3,5 mm jack/headphone so user can pick and choose. Arrows in keyboard, better navigation in text, Tabs in browser, be able to use flashplug in when i need it stuff like that. I JOLLA not wasting time to create inovative functions that nobady need to use, but instead creating software that works as top of the line smartphone.

Noob question: Will the Sailfish OS be used by some other manufacturers other than Jolla? Or will it be like Apple using iOS? My question is slightly pointing towards the openness of Sailfish too :D

Pro answer: Sailfish OS can be used by other manufactures as well. However as we speak we have no offical manufactures on the list. Jolla said that they plan to open similar offices in different areas of the world. but the name might not be under "sailfish".

Jolla have to prove that sailfish is a good bet for the future...lets see what jolla sails of the first version of sailfish.

As I described in some post months ago, this is how I think they should have used jolla.com until release.

Now, niantic(if you don't know it: google) has stolen the idea with some news/leads every day.

Very cool, yet very simple :D
