I was having trouble signing in with my youtube account, even after trying what was suggested in that A,B,C,D,E post.

No matter what i did I just couldn't sign in. What I eventually tried which was instantly successful was instead of entering:

Username: myusername
Email address: myemail@where-ever.com
Password: xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I entered my username again in the Email address field thus:

Username: myusername
Email address: myusername
Password: xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I did have my gmail and youtube accounts unlinked, and I had changed my contact email address in the youtube account to something other than a gmail address.

So hope that helps anyone else still having probs.

Thanks for this. I might take a look at the YouTube API source code and see if there's anything I can do, but it might be a server-side issue. If your solution works universally, I could introduce the crude method of first trying the existing login format, and then using the username in place of the email address if it fails.

EDIT: I tried the above solution as a test, and it worked with my accounts (though I didn't experience any issues before), so I'll upload a new build later. Hopefully that will solve any remaining authentication problems.

I'll change the feed to the one you have requested. I may even provide an option to choose any two of the standard feeds to appear on the home window. I did not want to have all of the standard feeds available, as it would clutter the UI, and I suspect most people never use the 'top rated', 'top favourites' etc, since they always produce the same results.

EDIT: I've uploaded a new release to extras-devel, with the feed change and the authentication fix.

I have a youtube account with yahoo email. I am unable to login and getting frustrated after several attempts. Any ideas on what to do next?

Can I ask which version of cuteTube you are using? There shouldn't be any authentication issues using the latest 0.9.1-1 build, which is in extras-devel. You may need to update.

If your using an older version, you can try entering your username instead of your email address, as described in the post above by shazosbourne.

Wow what I difference playing through kmplayer as opposed to the default maemo media player. Anyone experiencing constant buffering messages, quickly ditch media player go with kmplayer/mplayer.

Would you tell us that have you experienced this with wifi and 3g. For me wifi works just fine with default media player and after first bufferings it´s good.

Under IPv6 the application can't log in youtube account. Seems like the version of python on maemo has a bug in HTTPS over IPv6, probably this one:

It would be nice if you could release a patch to fix that problem... :-)

To everyone There are no problems with authentication, PERIOD!!!
The reason u are unable to login is because either u dont have a gmail account, or your youtube and gmail accounts are not linked...and if they are and still have problems, just unlink and relink them. I had the same problem until i linked my gmail and youtube accounts and it is all perfect eversince!!!:)
