I never did type much on the thing. It always seemed too painful...

After your post I riffed a few sentences on the notes utility using the thumb pad and had none of your issues. In fact it seemed less painless then I remember. May be due to the sensitivity changes, IDK. Have you looked in on the "Text input" settings in control panel?

Anyone try to use OMWeather after update? It installs ok, but when I try to refresh I get a message "Did not download weather."

BTW, Skype installed fine for me and works, as did Python 2.5.

Had the same exact problem in all previous firmware.

Hey guys, is there any way to reflash the last firmware? I updated my N800 yesterday, but then I loaded a backup and I want to try a fresh update to see what happens.

Regards!

PS: I don't have any linux distro in my PC

I know Nokia does not tell us all the fixes so will someone please check below.

Did anyone check to see if there is an increase in Video speeds? Mplayer, Mediaplayer.

Did they fix the video tearing issue?

Does Media Player handle movies better? Without using the converter? Divx..

Seems to me the Nokia is really slacking big time. How is it that after all this time all they did was add Flash 9 and Skype? I know they added the 8GB SD patch but we already had that. They included a few apps also that we already had.

I like Flash 9, but come on.

Most of the people at this forum created alot more apps with no money what so ever. Nokia will loose this market share to Intel and iPhone in the next 6 months.

Why make a device with no support. Come on.
Dont get me wrong I love my N800 only because of the people making apps. Not because of Nokia.

I bet if I tossed out some ideas of applications and put up 500$ we could get mass apps created in no time. Nokia has tons of money.

I remember that Sardine was showing something like what you're saying (just cought this on maemo planet: http://importluck.blogspot.com/2007/...a-channel.html )

nope, it jusr goes capital alone, i type a letter and then itt goes down, again, alone.
It lOoks like it doesn t go up after a dot, but randomly a few letters after.
I wiLL file a bug.
MoreVoer, as stated above, the screen does not go off unless explicitily told to.

the update is great IMO. Exactly what an update should be - again - IMO. Being overseas it is really nice to have Skype on the N800 now. Gizmo was fine, but costs more, and often the sound quality was bad. I hope to have a better experience with Skype! Googletalk always worked just fine - but only comp to comp. Gtalk2voip - haven't used that one in a while. The developer is really nice though!

Flash 9 is welcome, but UKtube plays utube vids much better than they appear on youtube - and only slightly more of a hassle.

I'll stop rambling now.
i agree with you on this.
