If they did a proper launch then the forums should be lit up with "I received my tracking number" yet I see 2 or 3 people here n there reporting. So sad, Nokia has let everyone down, its been two weeks since the first press release on the 10th

I wouldn't place so much stock in what Amazon says, considering we've heard everything from it doesn't matter to when you pre-ordered it depends on your shipping method to we have enough stock to cover first shipment if you place your pre-order now.

Most people that want an N900 will get one in December. The problems creating conflicting perceptions here:

1. They announced they were shipping when still on the manufacturing floor. Peter even made this comment in the same initial announcement.

2. To try and shut people up and fill the time gap, they shipped a small batch via air to a few markets. Nokia stores and their Dell direct channels got a few hundred each as an example.

3. Most of the sumbiches' are still on a dang boat and based on the lack of channel fill and sell through to consumers, Nokia has been slow with unit velocity.

Pi55 poor launch IMO.

Ya I got the same email on saturday after cancelling and re-ordering to get the rebate. They'v taken the funds from my account and told me that I would'nt lose my position in line as I also ordered early september, but as of yet there hav'nt been any updates :(

If the phones are really siting on a ship, then it could be awhile. Average transit time from Korea to Calif is 18 days. OPK made his shipping announcement on Nov. 10. That puts the first container ships into the U.S. on Nov. 28. :mad:

That must be the main issue, due to lack of real updates or significant sell-through velocity to consumers. Dell and Nokia got the first deliveries, but does not appear to be too many units.

My Dell order shipped shipped last night (or early this morning- not sure of their lag for updates). Dell gets theirs from Nokia direct channel distribtuion.

Haven;' read all this... the shipping threads got a bit much for me. But yes, my n900 DID ship today. Now it's stuck in a UPS exception. :p

My n900 just shipped!!!!!!! so I guess nokia USA has started shipping, the package was picked up from Indianapolis by fedex a little while ago =D good luck to the rest of you who ordered from nokia USA!

I just pre-ordered mine off Ebay a few day back. Hope to get the phone by End of month though, and my relative will post it to me from USA to NZ, I hope to get it a week before Xmas.

No idea when I will ever get mine..

The original pre-order was mid september, but I cancelled and re-ordered this last saturday. It was taking longer as the bluetooth headseat that came with it had some bugs they were trying to fix, so if you omit that from the order then it ships faster, thats my understanding anyways.
