Officially they deliver only saturday post - sender pays more for it. Sometimes they do deliver normal post on a saturday if it's part of select routes or they have a backlog - but dont bet on it! |

Webshop Customer Help says: we're not entirely sure when the stock is coming in at the moment, we are trying to get answers from Nokia JDR says: Will it be this side of christmas? Webshop Customer Help says: I have no idea, but I presume so JDR says: That doesn't fill me with confidence Webshop Customer Help says: I apologise for that, we are trying to get confirmation from Nokia JDR says: Are MPD still going to be the Exclusively first seller in UK?, seems some people alreaddy have the device? Webshop Customer Help says: those who got it direct from Nokia sim free Webshop Customer Help says: we have exclusivity on contract JDR says: so really no point cancelling order as won't get it faster from elsewhere unless sim free Webshop Customer Help says: no JDR says: Will there be an email explaining the situation soon?? Are they atually doing anything to find out? they've been saying 'we're trying to get answers' for days- I thought they were supposed to be Nokia's official online outlet. |

For those who were looking for that "ellusive handset".."exclusively".... time is fast running out ... As usual its all a waiting game.... |

"The reason: Our sources have in fact confirmed that Vodafone paid a large some on money in order to gain exclusivity for the device for two months. (End November 2009 – End January 2010) Now no doubt some of you are asking, why would they pay for it & then not offer it through their own stores? There are a few possible reasons: * Nokia only wanted the device available through their own stores for a few months. * As in the case of the Nokia N97, there were several early bugs & Vodafone wanted exclusivity but didn’t want to be tarnished with the problems as happened with the N97." *strokes beard in ponderment  |

Well, I've just been on a webchat and the person on the other end reckoned I'm in a queue with the "retail team" when they were helping with high customer loads and I don't have an order number as I'd requested an upgrade on my Vodafone contract which they couldn't do until they're in stock...then the chat died before I could get more detail. Sound feasible? I'm hoping my local Nokia store gets some in stock on the first delivery for walk-ins (they said they would), then I'll just pop down for upgrade, maybe?? |
Re: Mobile Phones Direct N900 Customers
I hope we get a free gift or something, I wouldn't mind http://www.nokia.com/microsites/bh-905.
Actually I'd happily wait another few weeks if I was getting one of those. |

Re: Mobile Phones Direct N900 Customers
Im goint to wait until I speak to someone at the NFS store Thurs night before deciding whether to cancel my MPD order. Im really in two minds as the t-mobile deal was so good, but Im reaching the point where Im losing faith with MPD
Will post here once I have spoken to them with my findings. Its just a shame that it is Vodafone as it will cost alot more :( |

With regards to ordering from anywhere, you should be able to log in and see your order after it has been placed, even with Nokia/MPD/CPW/ etc etc.... So don't take a waiting list place as an order anywhere :( The MPD webchat system is very flakey, so a phone call is better if you can't do it on the internet. My personal opinion, which may differ from other rumours is..... any orders placed with nokia uk now, will probably get to you in about 1-2weeks, as it sounds like they may have stock back in. But these are sim free. An order placed in the flagship store should see you with your device in a week or under maybe. MPD orders placed now, may just see you with your device before xmas if lucky :) |

Re: Mobile Phones Direct N900 Customers
OHGODDAMMIT...I managed to get through on the phone to the same girl I was talking to on the webchat- turns out the list I'm on will be fulfilled AFTER the weborders, which is contrary to what I was told at the time. Great, thanks MPD!
Back of the queue it is then- doesn't look like stores are going to have walk-in stock either according to her (I'll still call my local shop to see though). What's my alternative to get it quicker...do NFS do new contracts? Could I just go in to the London store when they have walk-in stock (any idea when that is due to be?) and then port my number to a PAYG sim on another network, then back to that new Vodafone contract to keep it? I'm miffed :( |
Re: Mobile Phones Direct N900 Customers

NFS do do new contracts, via mpd i think, i'm a bit confused with the stries on here, and i'm not sure if people have or have not successfully received their devices by walking in to the store and requesting a contratc. Would be useful to get a definitive answer on this one. edit : Wow i really can't spell or type! |
Re: Mobile Phones Direct N900 Customers
Just cancelled my MPD pre-order via phone. I've got no confidence in the platform going forwards after this much fumbling by Nokia and partners. I'll wait a while, perhaps get one when they're cheaper and in the shops.
One more open slot in the queue for everyone else! |
Re: Mobile Phones Direct N900 Customers
I have every confidence in Nokia producing and developing a platform. I just have zero confidence in their supply and delivery chain.

poo poo to nokia loosing another customer at this stage of the game :( (Don't care about mpd loosing another customer!) It's an interesting place here, as nokia employees do read it - but mainly developers and product peoples i assume, Peter doesn't by the looks of it feedback anything - well at least not to the customer.... I really do wonder if anyone senior enough in Nokia knows anything about the failed n900 saga?! |

This must be hurting MPD now judging by the number of cancellations announced on this forum (yay to that I say - both because it moves me up the queue and also hurts MPDs profit ;)). Bloody shambolic organisation though..shame it's the only damn way I can get the N900 on a contract with T-mobile. |
