Re: [ANNOUNCE] Alpha release of Open Media Player
Hi, sorry for bothering but since the update it won't play anything, saying "Unable to play media. URI not available." What is URI(I rechecked and it really says this)?
Also it won't show any of my media anymore in audio and video. And before I rebuilt the tracker db, it was showing the numbers and the media but wouldn't play them throwing that URI error. It played only ONE video once, I don't know why. And it isn't a problem with my tracker because I rebuilt the thing 3 times at least... Thanks. |
Re: [ANNOUNCE] Alpha release of Open Media Player
I use Windows Media Player's sharing feature to stream :)
|
Re: [ANNOUNCE] Alpha release of Open Media Player
One problem
album art show different image while playing a song(not original album art) well thanks for developing omp |
Re: [ANNOUNCE] Alpha release of Open Media Player
another problem with album arts: i have got 2 albums called "best of" and whatever i do (naming (cover/folder etc) or choosing via long tap on album art) they change simultaneously.
anyway, great player! |

Re: [ANNOUNCE] Alpha release of Open Media Player
Is there a way to set maximum scrollspeed in Albums?
Sometimes the albums just scrolls to fast by misstake, enyone experience this? Its like when you scroll and at the moment when you lift your finger something triggers the scroll to scroll a few pages down in very fast speed. |

I'm missing this feature, it was one of the most used by me... :( (If not possible to add search in play list, a setting for that (what I said before) in configuration should be available... ) |

Maybe one day I'll take fixing Tracker into my own hands (with multi-cd albums being another thing that cripples OMP), but for now I prefer to focus on the player itself. Quote:

Re: [ANNOUNCE] Alpha release of Open Media Player
better support for multi-disc albums and albums with same name (greatest hits) are my major annoyances. as you state it ignores artist which is the cause of the second problem, but also in a cheap hack kind of way fixes compilation albums.
any future work on tracker would be greatly appreciated.maybe as part of an omp v2 release ;) |
Re: [ANNOUNCE] Alpha release of Open Media Player
Ok, I guess that will do the trick. Thank you!

As gidzzz stated above, the focus is on the player at the moment. When it is finally officially released into extras or merged in with CSSU, and after any new bugs are fixed in a maintenance release, maybe this is something that could be collectively looked into. |

Often I want to skip to a particular song, which right at this moment means scrolling through a modest list of 800 songs on the shrunken now-playing file list - not practical. I've accustomed to searching via 'all songs', however now after a search If I select a song, it becomes the entire playlist (and ignores previous shuffle settings, now it turns off) - essentially 'repeat 1' . If I 'append this song' to the playlist, I now have say 800+1 songs to scroll through. I seem to believe this is how iPods work, but oh my I can't help but consider it a regression! Certainly jumping around the playlist is more often desired than hearing a subset of songs matched by string? :P Some sort of search directly from 'now playing' would remedy this little gripe, even save button presses, assuming feasible. Anyways I've just stepped back to the February release - works for me. Greatest of thanks for the continued development of this player! |

Re: [ANNOUNCE] Alpha release of Open Media Player
Hi!
I created patch which add support for Headset Phone button. Merge request is here: https://gitorious.org/qt-mediaplayer...rge_requests/7 This patch working fine without any hacks or daemons like packages: headset-button-enabler headset-control. So this patch is clean solution for openmediaplayer without 3rd dependences. Because headset has only one button (button "phone"), I added options to settings dialog to configure action. Actions are: play/pause, next, previous, stop, none |
Re: [ANNOUNCE] Alpha release of Open Media Player
Excuse me, if it was covered before, but does OMP support control buttons on BH-214 -like bluetooth receivers (sometimes called headphones), i.e. play/stop/forward/next/volume+/volume- separate buttons on receiver? It works fine on stock mediaplayer.
If not, does Pali's path also cover supporting it? by the way, huge thanks for path nevertheless, Pali! /Estel |

Button stop not working, but this my patch adding support also for stop button. Quote:
* stop button * phone button (with configuration in settings dialog) * auto enable/disable jack-bias alsa switch (needed for enabling button on wired headset) Receiving signals about button pressed is same for all input devices. So if somebody has bluetooth headset with "phone" button, it will be working too. |

Upstream is at https://gitorious.org/qt-mediaplayer/mediaplayer, but after being the only active developer for some time, I gave up merge requests. As a result, upstream is terribly out of date and the whole development is happening in https://gitorious.org/~gidzzz/qt-med...qt-mediaplayer.

MAG told me that I'll be added as a commiter, but it was half a year ago, so maybe he forgot. ;) I'll ask him what's up.
|
Re: [ANNOUNCE] Alpha release of Open Media Player
Wow, MAG is fast. :) I've got the permissions, so expect the upstream to be up-to-date soon.
Edit: I have pushed everything to the original repository (https://gitorious.org/qt-mediaplayer/mediaplayer). I don't know why Activities page doesn't show anything (maybe it takes so long to process almost 200 commits ;) ), but everything else seems alright. |
Re: [ANNOUNCE] Alpha release of Open Media Player
The previous update was a regression for some people and a few interesting changes have already accumulated since then, so I guess there's no point in holding this one any longer:
Sorry for removing "Delete" from "Now playing". I added it because of a feature request, but I didn't quite like it there and looks like I'm not alone in this. In such case I think it's better to just stick with the ways of the stock player for now. |
Re: [ANNOUNCE] Alpha release of Open Media Player
On an unrelated note, as far as I can recall someone made a system-wide equalizer that can be used in conjunction with the media player (including OMP).
However, that project seems to be old and not up-to-date when I last attempted using it, and so far it never worked for me. Some people say that it stopped working after PR1.3 (the equalizer was done before PR1.3 came out IINM), anyone can get it to work again somehow? I think this is one of the threads discussing the problem. |
Re: [ANNOUNCE] Alpha release of Open Media Player
Thank you very much, I do like a lot what I've seen right now! Thanks for your efforts!

Re: [ANNOUNCE] Alpha release of Open Media Player
For me the only missing feature is the ability to select the audio stream of a video file. It's very important to me as I usually see dual video files in where the second audio stream is the original version (non dubbed audio) and I cannot select it.

Re: [ANNOUNCE] Alpha release of Open Media Player
Sorry, if these have already been mentioned. Jumped in this thread halfway through. Couple of things I noticed since making OMP my default player.
Entertainment and Car views don't rearrange well for portrait orientation. All Songs Search bar (keyboard) will think I have held the key down sometimes, resulting in blue key symbols, instead of letters. Example:- If I type 'sup', as the search is filtering it will change to 'su0'. If I type 'cmp', as the search is filtering it will change to 'c'p'. I have about 3000 tracks, totaling 12266 minutes, so searches can take a moment or two. Thanks for all the work put into OMP, works really well. |
Re: [ANNOUNCE] Alpha release of Open Media Player
doesn't anyone having trouble using playback button (down on the right side) while playing a video????
every time a play a video, stop it then go back to video list or the main menu of OMP, when i push the playback button it doesn't play the video...it open as an unknown song (unplayable)..... has anyone has the same bug???? i'm on the latest CSSU testing.... |
