i just learned a valuable lesson hahaha:

i ordered a white n9 from atgsm.com for 639.99 plus 40$ for shipping total of 682.$

had i waited and shopped around, i would have saved 80$ with my total from negri being 602 with overnight shipping

Oh if it was overnight that's understandable. The guys from welectronics offered to give me overnight shipping for 20 bucks, so that was pretty impressive, but I can understand the urge to get it ASAP. I'm probably going to do the same.

EDIT: that was last night.. decided to sleep on it.. now they're gone.. starting at 450 and with a seller of less repute. sigh

Would the black be more likely to take on grease and visible scratches than the white? The white is still polycarbonate, it just has a white gloss coat, right?

Looks like the 64's are finally starting to hit the $500 mark. I really miss my FIN black 64. Once they fall to the $400-$450 USD range I'll go out and get another one.

Did they really? I didn't even know they had white. I don't see it for sale from them. I returned my black 64gb because I wasn't happy with the packaging (it was torn and opened). They offered to send me a replacement but I just wanted a refund. If I could I would've asked for a white to be sent then.

I have a dilemma / question for you guys. You see I am keen not to miss out on the N9.

Do you think it's safe to wait until my cell phone contract is eligible for upgrade, at the end of May, or should I rather just buy the N9 now? I'm just worried that the N9 won't be available by then!

Funny thing is that all the people I speak to in stores reckon the N9 should still be available then. But they also seem more interested in selling me the Lumia!

I'm worried Nokia or the networks will limit availability / discontinue the N9 here as well - as seems to be happening around the world. (I am from South Africa.)

You're best bet there would probably be to contact the seller by phone or email and request one from Finland specifically. Have them send you an invoice that specifically states Made in Finland on the box. I wasn't extremely picky or particular about this at first and found one fairly easily. Also know that all of the White 64 GB ones are Finnish as well.
