I tried to install as descibed in the first post through terminal.

"Installation" took only a few second, some error messages appeared in terminal (something like "can't rename folder" and "no such directory found"), then reeboot after a few seconds. Theme not installed correctly.

What can I do to find out what went wrong?

One cheat method would be to take F2thak's fdb original v7.5 files and run a diff against the stock files...Narrow your search to constants.ini or any other file you may think is the cause and do the diff to find it...

You can still just install each one of them individually and switch them using theme settings...However, if you want to skip using theme settings altogether just install the flavour you prefer and it'll be auto-applied...Uninstalling of a particular flavour will change the system's theme to blanco...

Since F2thak doesn't advertise much...Let me tell you i'm a fan of the original variants but for v7.6 if you don't use the blue or red variants, you are missing out on all the fun :p

The completeness of the areas of the theme really make blue or red much better options...Just look at the .deb file size for blue/red vs original to see how much more awesomeness is included in the former variants :D

One note I'll like to add here...It seems the .css files for clock are not in the .DEB files as they are not in the original fdb-VARIANT folder...

So if you are having the same issue this is what you do in terminal:


BLUE variant:

However, before doing the above you need to download the following files depending on the variant you want to use and save the file to /home/user/MyDocs/

I remember there was someone asking around here for help on changing the call-ui to the default one while keeping the variant's colours...

Well, I've modified F2thak's FDB Red v7.6 Call-ui file to copy blanco while staying the colours and keeping the faster transitions...

Get the file from: FILE DELETED

Download the file to /home/user/MyDocs/ then do the following in terminal:

You'll need to do a reboot for the changes to apply...I'll modify the call-history.css maybe tomorrow and post...After I'm done with the red I'll attempt the blue and original but since red is my current favourite it gets priority :p


F2thak, if you object please let me know I'll take-down the file...

EDIT: Looks Like I made some error in it hence it causes an issue...So the below file call-history.css works well but the call-ui.css doesn't...I'll fix this tomorrow; looks like i need some rest before doing it again...

Well it looks like call-history.css is a relatively smaller file so I managed to get it done...

Again its only for FDB Red v7.6

Also after flashing my N9 to a virgin OS I can't install FDB through terminal :-(
I got some errors that directorys can not be created or don't exist!
Can anyone help?

Install the .deb files... Make sure you have enabled installation from non-trusted sources...

It works better than via terminal but there are still some error messages and some graphics unchanged. I will post some pictures tomorrow.

the error messages must be about the disigsums file...that is nothing to be worried about ;)

for graphics read the previous page about the clock not being changed using the .deb files and the solution to them...I do know calendar is also affected but I haven't posted about that as it needs to modify the base folder which I don't want to touch...You can modify it though...Read the script first and see what you want to replace...

to be honest I really like the dark appearance of "original" (including Clock UI MOD) but don't want the other tweaks (Faster Transitions MOD, Standby Screen MOD and Phone UI MOD). Would it be possible to modify the .deb such that Transitions MOD, Standby Screen MOD and Phone UI MOD are not included?

for phone ui mod i've posted for red variant the files needed to be modified in the previous page...I'll do for original and blue tomorrow...

F2thak has already said that if someone wants it plain vanilla do a comparison of files and edit them...

Transitions mod is nothing but a speed up of the transitions so i think its quite good for it to remain...

Stanby screen only changes the clock colour which if you use the original, not blue or red, variant is the same as stock...

Once I get the call-ui and call-history for blue and original modded tomorrow, i'll create the .debs but no promises on it being done tomorrow too...

Yeah I can imagine F2thak has spent "a couple" of hours managing everything. I know how much work goes into this stuff specially with complex folder structures such as this. A pain!

I have only changed the "inactive" keys so far to get the look I wanted. Still need to edit some pressed items etc.

So once that is done I can share it. I have no idea though how I would compile anything that makes it easy to just "flash" it or anything. I'm doing cp -R command for each and every file I have edited ;)

It took F2thak many months not simply hours ;)...

Just share the cp -R commands and your original files...We'll find a way to get it done via a script or a .deb...

Can the clock and date font size in the lock screen be changed? I want them to be on their original values. :)
