This is how i do since i am using it.

Never paid for great what'sApp support to N9. Always got additional year for free, from 2012 to 2016.

Removed what's up from autostart. Often ended What's up because of memory usage.

Paid much more to what's up.

Help needed to support cepi?

Using 1.2.5 and returns error on registration : old_version

Any idea what to do now without any updates coming in? :(

Yep! The same here. "server response: old_version".
So, whatsapp 'servers' banned us all??

Yeah same here.I do live in Germany where there seems to be an whatsapp outage but...
I don't know if to blame f***ing whatsapp or all my friends who only use whatsapp…Guess i finally need to buy a Jolla and use the official app. They broke me ;-)

wormdrummer 2015-09-02 05:50

Re: Whatsup - Harmattan client

Well, the official WhatsApp works on the jolla, but not whatsup, so I don't think it's related t othe WhatsApp outage...

Re: Whatsup - Harmattan client

Hi to all,

I've used Whatsup since the beginning on my Nokia N9 till yesterday and today, no connection..... :-(

Tried registering and got response "old version". And Cepiperez page for this app has been removed from OpenRepos....

I have to stay in touch with my contacts during working hours and this app was really helpful and now i'm like helpless.... :-(

Anyone got a solution or even Cepiperez plz?

Does he plan to continue on this app or has he been ordered to stop?

Thanks in advance for your responses.

Djsupersonic.

They can not kill a dead phone.
Time to switch messenger.

Yesterday got my first ad at telegram (desktop), btw russian number.
Hope my WA status remains @telegram until 2016.
Not sad about lost what'sApp, but sad about developer, it is a shame what WA is doing.
See also what'sup Jolla thread.

I think that this gem might work for you guys:
whatsup_1.2.7_armel.deb
(click on the orange Download Now thats on the right side)

Re: Whatsup - Harmattan client

Hmm, where there an command to force the installation of the package HtheB provided?

My N9 is refusing to install it. Claims it has already been installed from verified source. I guess this is because I have installed it from Cepis Openrepos...

Uninstall old version first, or if you dont want to uninstall, you can also upload it on open repos, and download/install it from there. (be sure to remove it afterwards from openrepos :p)

Yeah, realized that, but then have to do some extra work to save and reapply the databases...

Just thought it would have been easier if there would have been one command to do it.

It works!
Before install it, you have to uninstall old version, i've done it from command line (dpkg -r whatsup), no db files was erased.
Thanks!

rrave 2015-09-02 10:50

Can confirm. Remove with dpkg -r whatsup and use the link HtheB provided. Thank you!

Because Facebook doesn't want unofficial clients for our phone? Time to change messaging app, rather.

Very sorry to read about that :(
I hope that "undergound" the development will go on!
