Shipment grew from 1.3 mill Q2 2011 to 5.1 mill Q2 2012 :) That is some heavy growing :D

To put some perspective on this. If you line up every iPhone and WP phone being sold in Q2 2012, then you have 5 iPhones, 1 WP, 5 iPhones, 1 WP and so on.

In Q2 2011 the same line would be 15 iPhones and 1 WP.

Of course Android is a giant in comparison, but not that gigantic:
Q2 2011: 39 Androids, 1 WP
Q2 2012: 21 Androids 1 WP. But the main growth has been in China for Android.

And RIM:
Q2 2011: 10 Blackberrys 1 WP
Q2 2012: 8 Blackberrys, 5 WP

In one year WP will have caught up iOS, and will start eating china-phones (Androids) for breakfast :D

It is not too late to get some Nokia stock. They are still in happy hour mode.

The Nokia stock price for months has been at the mercy of short traders. For anyone not familiar with the term:

Quote:

For example, an investor who borrows shares of stock from a broker and sells them on the open market is said to have a short position in the stock. The investor must eventually return the borrowed stock by buying it back from the open market. If the stock falls in price, the investor buys it for less than he or she sold it, thus making a profit.

So far this year there have been at least 3 sets of take over rumours - Microsoft at the start of the year is well known. At the start of June the share price had fallen to $2.60ish when the second rumours regarding a take over from Samsung rocketed the price up to $3.03 in a few hours, but rapidly fell again after the rumours were scotched. And ofcourse the latest Lenovo rumours which helped driove the price to $2.69, it's currently back down to $2.26 but was as low as $2.17 earlier today.

Now.. if on July 20th I could take a short term position on Nokia stock at $1.70ish a share, manipulate the market with false rumours and sell two weeks later at $2.60+ I'm sure to make a profit. I still need to buy back from the market to return the stocks to the broker I borrowed from, but the price has crashed post-rumours -so good news cos it's not worth nearly as much now. If that day was today and i re-bought at $2.17 then that's 43 cents a share I made. At high volumes of shares (multiples of thousands) that starts becoming serious money. This type of market manipulation is at best highly immoral ofcourse, but looking at the volumes traded and the high percentages (of shares that can be shorted) that appear to be shorted then .. well let's say I'm very suspicious.

Mikey's BUY joke marked the SELL time.

Nokia's climb peaked yesterday Wednesday at €2.28. From a minimum value of €1.33, it was an max. profit of €0.95, 75% in half a month.

Penny stock indeed. €1.87-1.88 atm.

LOL mc had a wet dream :D That is what's wrong with tmo. You loose track of what what and why. Suddenly it's all about market share, stocks, world domination and hate-elop-competition. What you should care about is getting those Jolla jolts to make a real device and not some sad excuse for a low end Android.

I don't know if i'd invest in Nokia right now. They're rated Neutral by the software i use and they haven't been very healthy lately.

Recently I've noticed a lot of new users with no posts other than the 1 or two they post here. Welcome stealthology and jsaloo. Long time lurkers I guess? hope it's not something more sinister :)

That widget(is it?) looks nice, though a little uninformative on what the bars actually mean. Is chaikin power tools data sourced from somewhere else or do they provide their own with additional information they publish somewhere?
