Opera mobile has it's own portrait keyboard? I don't actually ever use the browser in anything other than landscape (I think the portrait mode is a waste of time for the developers, and a COMPLETE waste of time if theres no keyboard for it), but it's cool that the Opera developers went that little bit extra to make the user experience better for all use cases.Kudos Opera!

This is a speculation thread, so let me speculating a bit :)

Maemo died, the only real reason to release PR1.2 was to provide qt 4.6.2 and give to n900 users the possibility of use (buy) qt-unified ovi store apps (giving nokia another ROI), other improvements are out due to old maemo departement plans, but are the last effort. That will be the only way to have n900 owners buying apps, as they will not get meego officially.

As the store business is not yet ready there is no need to release PR1.2 soon, and has much sense to test it for another couple of months by the last two developers that were not yet migrated to meego, becouse it will be the last maemo5 upgrade, and noone wants to dig again in gtk sources.

and he is right - thursday is public holiday in finland. so nobody takes work serious for the end of the week. next week is a good chance it will be released but i doubt it - long weekend - slow week start -> so week after then should be the hot week of 1.2 release.

thats the mentality of finns - they just dont know how to work efficient and they lost trac with the speed how things happen around them.
one could say they work with the speed of the spanish - manjana mentality :)

H'mm public holiday on Thursday pro'ly means a long Finnish week-end. Based on some of their past releases this smells like Wednesday is the day then :D

OS2007 and OS2008 had major updates released the day before a long Holiday for Nokia... ah, good times.

Back to this version of PR1.2...

With PR 1.1 I could point to my M3U playlists from links in a locally stored web page and the media player would open and load the playlist. This was pretty handy as I had one page I opened that contained album art images that I used to link to the corresponding playlists.

This is broke in PR1.2. The M3U's now open as text files. :eek:

I hope that gets fixed or I figure out where to make this association again.

I think they can not decide which button must be replaced in the browser ... therefore they can not release the firmware ..

Look at the timing of PR1.2 delay.

I think it wouldn't be too surprising if they instead released MeeGo PR1.2 for N900, after all this delay.
