Yes, somehow proper resuming after the media backend was shut down (to save battery) doesn't work too well right now. I'm trying to fix this.

Another thing: I have videos, where nautilus detects fmp4 as videocodec.
When using mafw as backend, it plays a few seconds, then the screen
becomes black and audio stops. The time is still running. With the mplayer-
backend it plays. The Nokia mediaplayer plays it without problems.

No idea. MAFW should be MAFW, regardless of being used by MediaBox or Nokia's mediaplayer.

I think I don't quite understand your question. MAFW is running in the background on the N900. MediaBox just connects to have it play media.

opening the app?

You can put the playlist (and many other items) on the shelf for one-click access. Moving to a place directly after startup (like the homepage setting in a webbrowser) is a nice idea, though.

Yes, I read everything in this thread. Sorry for not answering everybody. Some questions can also be answered by other people so I intentionally leave out some questions to focus on the more technical stuff. Mostly when I read this forum I'm on Opera on the N900 waiting at a train station, or am on the train and don't have a great text input field for answering. :)

Oh yes, 412b started developing a widget for MediaBox. It currently is available for Diablo. The Maemo5 version still has some crashing issues from what I've heard.

Yes, you can disable Tracker (or Metalayer Crawler on Maemo4) support in "Settings -> Media Index" and scan the folders manually. Browse to the folder with MediaBox and hold down on the folder's icon. A menu will popup where you can select "Scan for Media".

THX, this will do. But the option of autoscanning only selected folders would be nice.
Or at least, option to scan folders that are on shelf.

Not sure if this is a bug or has already been mentioned but when browsing folders within the player, the player doesn't detect folders starting with non letters. aka ( [ , ] , { , ...)

Got it working :)
I'm planning to release packages on weekend.

I have tested it again. AVRCP does not work with mediabox. It worked only with an
active mediaplayer-widget. But I removed that widget, because it is very buggy.
Now mediabox (mafw-backend) does not react to the bluetooth remote.
The only thing that works is pausing via headphoned, whtn bluetooth audio disconnects.
I think, it's best, when you catch the dbus-calls for mafw.

I suppose it's not handled by MAFW but by the widget or the Nokia mediaplayer then.

It would be great if you could record the dbus-calls using
Code:

dbus-monitor --session
and
Code:

dbus-monitor --system
for me so that I can see which dbus signals to catch. I don't have AVRCP hardware so can't test it myself.

I created "[weird] folder" on my N900 and was able to get into it with MediaBox without any problems. Am I missing something? Apparently starting with non-letters alone is not the problem.

Do I dare imagine what kind of sicko videos of filth are in that [weird] folder, pycage? :)
