Nokia E72 "in stores now" in PR from Nokia.
That was announced shipping on 4 November.

Assuming the factory to shop timings are the same (and there's no reason why they wouldn't be), then we should see devices late this week, or early next.

It *always* takes 10 - 14 days from announcement of shipping (from factory in Korea) to shop in London. Only in this forum to do we demand minute by minute updates...

I don't demand minute-to-minute update.. but if nokia knows of this 10-14 days delay, they could tell maybe ? All I know is that nokia has shipped it (presumably to me ? or ? maybe to someone else ? or , eh just put it on a boat and shipping it a little bit around in the ocean ? )

Nokia is shipping millions of phones from their factories to costumers each year.. They KNOW how long it takes ..

Me too. With the obvious delays, and everyone stating that they wouldn't believe any of the supposed dates until someone actually had one in their hand- I didn't see the point myself.

It's frustrating being told constantly what we could do with our N900...only if we had it of course.

All I can do is hope that it will arrive one day this week if not guess what I'll do......Wait some more haa.

People make me laugh when they threaten to cancel their pre-order and never do like this is gonna make Nokia ship faster.

All We can do is wait wait and wait some more....

I guarantee on the morning when people start to receive their device the forum will be dead for around 1-2 hours while people have a play...

Exactly. We're already convinced by the n900, we don't need to be shown any more promotional videos, we ordered it... That said, although it's annoying me now, I don't intend to cancel

no me neither, this is exactly the device I want, I'm not going to throw a hissy fit and spite myself by cancelling the order. But I have been a little disappointed by the lack of communication from Nokia and the retailers over this.

Am I in the grip of gadget lust? Of course, I know this behaviour isn't rational, sitting at my computer when I should be working pressing the refresh button on my keyboard every 2 or 3 minutes to see if there has been any change in the status of my order. But this kind of devotion is exactly what Nokia would like from their customers, this kind of brand loyalty, there's no point them acting all surprised when we bug them every five minutes to find out what the hell is going on...

Yeah I know what that like... I think by the time I get the device I'll be an expert from all the YouTube videos I've watched.

I'm near to cancel my oder. But where i have to order it, to receive in earlier ? I can't order it directly from nokia online store, because switzerland in not listed.

on digitec.ch there's a user post saying they'll receive 200 units on 19th/20th November (they have about 60 preorders). However the same day on the digitec website the availability has been changed from mid-november to eary december. On the bright side the price keeps dropping and is now at 709.- (CHF) :-) (it was 899.- at the beginning)

I hope they will have it by the end of next week...

I think the only thing that would make me forgive MPD for the lack of communication today, would be to know that they have "all hands on deck" to get the N900 booked in when it arrives and booked straight back out again before the end of the day.

Does anyone know the actual physical process MPD have to go through once the phones turn up at their warehouse?

Is it simply....

Arrive in bulk packaging on a lorry>Unload>Book stock in>Unpack from bulk>Repackage for individual posting>Book stock out>Post

Re: OPK: N900 deliveries have now started!!

OK boys and girls. Here is an important message, at least for german preorderers. I just called nokia germany and got the following information:

Nokia did start to ship the devices from their factories to the nokia shops on 10th of november.

By now, nokia online shop germany did not receive the devices. But as soon as they arrive, they will ship to the preorderers. They believe that it's the 25th of november or even sooner.

And one imporant message: NO shop or online shop in germany will get the devices sooner as NOKIA Online Shop. Their preorderers will get the devices as the first in Germany.

So I am very glad I preordered at the right shop and now i'll wait patiently for being one of the first who will get the device. (Preordered 29th of august).

This means, preorderes who ordered from amazon or expansys or so, will have to wait longer than me and other preorderers from nokia online shop.

Something is not adding up here. If Nokia really was shipping out the door on Tuesday, someone would have the product. My guess is Nokia was being very liberal with the term "shipping" and the product was green lighted to ship, rather than actually shipping.

If product was expedited, someone would have had the product or received shipping notification over the weekend. Even with standard air bulk delivery (where the product is queued with others to fill planes) someone would at least have shipping confirmation.

Customs is not usually an issue for the slowdown either, since all major sell-in channels have import reps that handle there products, so product does not sit and collect dust.

Assuming Nokia failed to expedite product and shipped air-bulk and product really shipped on Tuesday:

Tuesday product is dispatched to shipper and processed

Wednesday product is queued for air-bulk delivery and ships

Thursday product arrives at destination, customs review and dispatched to inbound channels

Friday product is received at sell-in channels and processed (Nokia and official resellers probably have priority)

Saturday product is arranged for direct channel distribution- depending on scanning and order status system, some sell-through customers should see an update status.

Sunday is a wildcard, since depends on shipping method and channel work schedule

Monday- Someone should either have word or received their N900. Maybe not many people, but SOMEONE should have.

My bet is the product was cleared for shipping and not actually "shipping". Most likely left factories on Wednsday (at best).

4.37 x 2.35 x .77 in (110.9 x 59.8 x 18 mm)

Treo 600:
4.41" x 2.36" x 0.87" (112 x 60 x 22.1 mm)

Treo 700:
4.4" x 2.3" x 0.9" (112 x 58 x 22.9 mm)

Treo 750:
4.37" x 2.28" x 0.87" (111 x 58 x 22.1 mm)

Placing the device upside down should allow access to the power button and to the headphone jack without taking it out of the case.

Maybe too late for you, but the Tytn 2 is 112mm x 59mm x 19mm, so I'm hoping the Tytn 2 case I've already got will fit ok... We'll see!

Now THAT makes sense ;)

Foolish for Nokia, considering the N900's awareness and delay already- but makes complete sense for having zero real status updates from any channel or seller.

If people start getting them today, Nokia shipped on Tuesday. If not, Nokia either shipped by boat, or Sopwith Camels via Snoopy airlines ;)

Surely Nokia was PR smart enough to at least ship by Snoopy rather than boat.

Wait a second, Snoopy was really on his doghouse

As has been the case with past Nokia releases - mobiles are available at retail 2 weeks after shipping.. Shipping via boat/road would give a reason for this timelag.

whats the matter with all of you. The only thing nuknuk has done is share what he has been told. It is really not his fault that the sales people told him the wrong thing consistently to the point that it was believable. If you dont want to hear rumors and speculation, and potentially bad info, dont read these threads, stick to just press releases.
