Wondering if there's an ETA for zodttd's new psx4all release.

BTW, should smoku's port technically be called "psx4maemo" or "psx4n900"?

i don't know if it has been posted before but i have the following problem: some games need the bios file to load, when i don't put the bios file i have an error: load failed. i think it's normal! but when i put the bios file, it boots up and stays stuck on the SONY ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEM logo. i have this problem with at least 3 Games. somebody can help me solve this?? thanks in advance!!!

Thats because psx4all cant play it..the PS logo is just the bios..if you get stuck without bios...you get stuck with bios too : )

I've tried many games but none of them work properly.

Street fighter EX2 Plus - SLOW AS F*** (Cycle Multiplier =1)

I've tried Cycle MultiPlier = 7 like suggested, everything working smooth almost like native, but once I got to the point where I select "Arcade, Versus..." and selected one of them to play "Arcade" and yet it stucked in black screen and sometimes stuck at "Now loading.."

Tried with every multiplier but no luck. Only multiplier 1 got some luck but un-playable!

It's still the same PSX4ALL source code. You may take this same code and compile for Dingoo, GP2X, iPhone etc.

I've got a simple question:
1) Where do you i put the bios files (i have all 17 of them) ?
2) Where do i put the images?
3) In what format should the images be?

With that info, I can start experimenting and hopefully Crash Bandicoot games work :D

Ok, I've just tried the first game:

Title: Overboard/Shipwreckers
Format: .iso
Version: PAL
No tweaks - Game runs with sound perfectly with no glitches, game speed is very slow (around 5-8 fps). But hey, it runs :D

One thing I've noticed, the emulator atm works through software mode, but I'm sure we all know that. We really need to get OpenGL ES2.0 running. I'm sure that would help both visually and in terms of speed. Maybe PR1.2 will help a bit in some other way too.

I've tried Crash 1-3 off the bat, but i can't get past bios, i'll have to play with the settings, hopefully i get it running.

Edit: I've managaed to run Overboard 15fps without any glitches. If I put the Cycler multiplyier and frameskip to maximum, the bios screen runs 50fps, but the game hangs after the copyright notice.

I, too, am interested in when it was actually confirmed zodttd would release for N900. I've read page 50 onwards of this thread and only two or three posts really seem to mention anything about it.. none with any solid evidence from him.

He mentioned on his blog that he is interested in the N900 and might buy one to support the development.

Ok, so its hardly anywhere near a set in stone thing. Sounds more like a, "maybe in a few years when I'm rich and bored". I say this as it sounds smoku has all but left this for dead as he will rwait for zodttd's release.

smoku is actually waiting for a new version of psx4all code which is what I meant in my original question. afaik zod is going to release a newer version of the emulator that can be ported to the N900.

Hmm... Micro Machines was working perfectly yesterday afternoon. Went to play today and it won't boot. Tried uninstall + reinstall but that doesn't appear to remove config files. Any tips?

1. Go to store/eBay and buy the game you want
2. Put it in your PC CD-drive
3. Run CD Burning app
4. Dump bin/cue image

The BIN is what you want.

hey smoku! loving ur work by the way!

anyway, i know you've said a few times now that you won't touch the open GL support yourself but have encouraged others to do so, well, has anyone began taking up the challenge yet? i wouldn't know where to begin myself but if you point me at somene with the technical know-how i can go round there with a large stick and some duct tape and do some serious convincing! ;)

Send emails to Zod and see if you can motivate him.

He said he had a whole lot of free time so MWeston sent him a pandora (omap3 device, like the n900) and he "couldn’t be bothered to do anything with it".

On the other hand, we could try finding someone else with the brains for it.

You've cut it out of context. I was talking about diagonal buttons not OpenGL ES based GPU emulation.

Nah it was fine for you to mention it, I am just curious about the 3D accel and am as frustrated as everyone that this isn't working. So it would be nice if we all chipped in a bit of encouragement where it can do some good.

It would be so nice to see psx4all working with open gl es support! Can't we find enough people to donate money to ZodTTD, like tried in this post?

maybe we should notify ZodTTD just as yet.
he is not a poor guy, but relatively rich...
if he sees, that he can gain (at the moment) 80 bucks for just a recompile....
