However, I am not 100% sure about this, if someone could confirm it would be great. What I know for sure is that we need to give that username located at developer.nokia.com page (upper right corner) |
Re: 2012 Coding Competition
Quite a lot of confusion going on!
What I guess is going here: Nokia merged/screwed databases for their different login systems. Now all accounts are linked and you need to login with your Nokia account name (or e-mail), not anymore your developer account name. I have chosen them to be the same, but it looks like the developer account may be different to the Nokia account. And then you may not login anymore with your developer name, but Nokia name. Drax and aStrike, could you please check and confirm? |

Re: 2012 Coding Competition
But you do have two lines to enter your complete address and a postal code (which I also included in above two lines).
Nearest city is somehow restricted to cities (for country boys ;)). And I think does not reflect the vcity/town/village you are living in. TBC |

If you want you can publish it to Nokia Store and hopefully earn some pocket money. I think I voted for your app by the way. |

Next I tried to login at store.ovi.com, and I can configure my account, however I can't find anywhere username (for example, when I go to store.ovi.com, it doesn't say "Hi Some_User", instead I get "Hi my@email.com". So I guess that we can login only using emails. |
Re: 2012 Coding Competition
@draxcp6
Try https://acount.nokia.com And when you log in there and just open developer.nokia.com, you should be automatically logged in. |

Re: 2012 Coding Competition
Hi guys, yep the whole accounts merge/username thing seems to be pretty confusing - thanks for helping each other and pointing out the correct bits and pieces of info :)
I have a collection of odds and ends from folks, some have given me several different usernames, phone numbers, account history... But I'm not sure what to do with all that lol Also please don't send me any sensitive account info, leave that between yourself and your Nokia account :o From what I understand from your posts, your Nokia developer username doesn't sign you in anymore.. either your email address or your standard Nokia username does. But once you're logged in, you should be able to access the developer.nokia.com site and see your developer username once in there. if you provide me with that developer username and your email address, I'll pass both on so the Nokia rep can verify your account with both details. That should minimise any problems. in the meantime, please check that your address details in both the developer account and the standard Nokia accounts match. Just in case, so you won't need to go to Papua New Guinea to collect your phone (unless you live there ofcourse!). Yep, i also understand the 'nearest city' field in the Nokia developer account is silly. My nearest city is 45 miles away and I wouldn't like to have to go there to track down my parcels. There is a second address line to add the correct details, and as long as your post/zip code is correct there shouldn't be any problems. I wouldn't expect the 'nearest city' would appear on an address that is used for posting items, it's probably there as some kind of survey/research details for calculating the number of site users in an area.. I have usernames from most people .. I'm off to rugby training in a hour, and if I don't receive anything from the last few tonight I'll send them an email bump before bed. |
Re: 2012 Coding Competition
I think you picked out the correct information (as I understood that mess :)).
Thanks for summarizing. Come on guys, hurry up ;) |
Re: 2012 Coding Competition
Just submitted my Developer ID by mail :)

Are you sure that is correct? Quote:
If my calculation is correct, 7 people still need to send their developer ID. |

And to make it worse, the moment I created my new Account (for this competition) I used the same mail adress I have used before. And since this is the same adress I used for publish.nokia.com the accounts were now automatically merged and I can't change this adress. So if they would change the mail adress of the corrupted account back to the original adress the system would get really ****ed up because 2 accounts would use the same adress... and and and... baaah! Hmpf, since Nokia is anyway death there is perhaps no reason to shed a tear over my old Qt Ambassador account. The program was anyway ceased. :( |
Re: 2012 Coding Competition
Just out of curiosity :D, how much time will it for nokia to process th devices before they ship the devices after kojacker provides them the ID's list? (was 2-3 days mentioned somewhere?)
|
Re: 2012 Coding Competition
Quote:
I'll give it a week :D |
Re: 2012 Coding Competition
Experience from programs in the past would rather suggest 2-3 *weeks* - and it was before quim said goodbye to Nokia. But, since it's shipped, it should take 2-3 days max to deliver, except for south america and asia.
Of course, there is always chance for pleasant surprise, but I wouldn't count on it too much :) /Estel |
Re: 2012 Coding Competition
I'm really sorry guys, but I received a message from the Nokia rep last night via council (Woody) regarding the details they are looking. I know I asked for the developer username and email, but it looks like I need to get some more details from all of you. Apologies - this is going to delay us for another few days and I know you are all keen to get this finished and your devices sent out.
Here's the message passed to me Quote:
(Also, it's better to email at maemo.competition2012 at gmail dot com than send a pm on here, my pm inbox is full a lot.) |
Re: 2012 Coding Competition
Done!
Thanks Kojacker - take your time! We all will be finally very happy :) after we get our hands on with the new and shiny devices! |
Re: 2012 Coding Competition
No need to bes orry.
I expected something like that to happen. Just one question: Which e-mail do they want? The one registered with developer account? Or any (like TMO registered e-mail)? And one more: phone means a valid phone number (registered to NDA)? Or just the model we want? |

Re: 2012 Coding Competition

Sorry for delay, I was away for past 2 days. |
Re: 2012 Coding Competition
Ok, just want to post summary of current status:
Winners that didn't sent email with all details: 9 Winners which didn't sent any info at all (or at least developer name): 3 Now I am worrying about those who didn't sent any info at all. I mean it passed over two weeks... what could/is holding them back? |

omg I think the device will not come this month.:(
And next month my work calls me to Stanford CA. I think I will holding the device in December in my hands. Does somebody know if I need to sign something when the package arrives because of this loan thing. I already put the address from my parents because of my availability at home. |

Ok.. I have lunch break in a hour, I'll see where we stand with everyone. For folks who sent me your extra details, please check that they match what is in your Nokia developer accounts. I'll pass these on anyway as it may be useful for the rep to locate your accounts, unless you ask me not to send these details on. If you rather I didn't just email to let me know, and also I'll delete the email containing them right away. As of right now I'm the only person who has accessed the email account and I have not noted the details anywhere else, nor is my memory that good, so a quick delete and they'll be good as gone.. :) I'll update later with a status of who's missing a Nokia Developer username, who I spam bumped on email, etc. We should be very close to finally getting this list sent to the Nokia rep. Quote:
Edit: Ok .. scores on the doors! The latest details I have are here http://wiki.maemo.org/Maemo.org_Codi...on_2012#Prizes - please take a moment to double check the Nokia developer username I have for you. You all know i'm dozey, it's in your interests to make sure I have it right :) If anything needs changed, just email me as usual. taixzo, jackburton, Lucien XU, Khertan, qwazix, aStrike, draxcp6, dirksonguer, paoletto, Halftux, titilambert, leon.anavi, munozferna, jukra, helex, MartinK, Schturman, Marrat, and peterleinchen - you guys gave me your Nokia developer account and extra info. So i'm assuming you've been following the thread and your Nokia developer details (address, etc) are all up to date and fine. You get a box of virtual cookies plus an imaginary gold star on your fictious report. fcrochik, netvandal, and ikkysleepy - I have your Nokia developer username but no extra details (which is fine, but I'm going to email you to double check your Nokia developer account details are all up to date and correct.) (Edit: done) (edit2: moved marmistrz and kesrut to this section) [..snip..], [..snip..] and saidinesh5 - I don't have any Nokia developer username for you three guys so I'll be emailing you asap to get those. (Edit: emails sent) |

Re: 2012 Coding Competition
Hi guys, we would like your help with assigning the final device prize - the fcrochik N9 award. This is a N9 which will go to a Maemo5 developer. If you know someone who deserves to be considered (including yourself) please get in touch with me :) We need your help to narrow down the list of possible recipients.
The person we'd ideally like to reward would be an unsung hero.. someone who is doing great work on Maemo5 and who hasn't already got a MeeGo device. Someone who will keep and enjoy the device, and will continue their great work and bring their apps to the new platform. And ideally someone who took part in the competition. However, excellent candidates outside these restrictions could still be considered, so please let us know if you know someone who fulfils some/all of these ideals. There's no community vote for this prize. The N9 prize is a device that was awarded to fcrochik from the community awards, which he has kindly donated to the competition prize pool - so ofcourse fcrochik will have the major say in choosing the winner. We don't have much time to spend on it so please get your nominations to us asap - via email preferably :) |
