I guess a Code:
AEGIS_FIXED_ORIGIN=com.nokia.maemo/net.openrepos.harmattan dpkg -i whatsup*.deb But who of you wazzapp users use OpenMode? ;) @coderus or is your aegis-dpkg capable of other trusted origins than com.nokia.maemo? |

I've installed the 1.2.7 and it has worked for a couple of days but it seems to have started failing on connection again :(

Of course I tried connecting a few times and it kept failing. This naturally lead me to believe it could be a registration error as i thought, so I proceeded (after reading some old posts on other and this forums when encountering this problem) to remove my account and re-register. After doing this it didn't even work :( From there on I literally thought my life was over, I couldn't even access any of my conversations and contacts. The Nokia N9 is the closest to a modern smarthphone I have, I was even considering if it was even a smartphone anymore since I couldn't do any modern day basics. Then I proceeded by emailing CepiPerez after discovering WhatsUp wasn't on his website anymore and I couldn't find any alternatives on the internet. I am thankful he replied and pointed me here with version 1.2.7., that made my day albeit short lived. Before downloading it I HAD to remove the previous version, and then I could install it. I had to register my number again and then i was back online...but to my dismay...everything I was keeping record of and any active conversations were completely gone! :( After a few restarts (including my phone) things started to synchronize, but only contacts and groups that I was participating in, other than that everything was gone! :( I hope this makes sense to you lot. |
Re: Whatsup - Harmattan client
Once you remove your account, yes, it can delete the conversations.
|
Re: Whatsup - Harmattan client
So isn't there any waaay to recover them??? :(

Borré toda la aplicación, sus configuraciones y sus bases de datos, la reinstalé y me registré nuevamente y ahora está funcionando bien. También logré instalar de nuevo la base de datos con todas mis conversaciones. Gracias de nuevo a CepiPerez. It's not Carlos, is Matías Pérez. Sorry for the mistake. I deleted the entire application, your settings and databases, the reinstalled and checked again and is now working well. I also managed to reinstall the database with all my conversations. Thanks again to CepiPerez. |
Re: Whatsup - Harmattan client
@cepiperez

Re: Whatsup - Harmattan client
Hey,
I`ve the same problems as you. I`ve understand I need at first the latest version 1.2.7. Can be it`s a stupid question, but when I`m following the link https://openrepos.net/content/cepiperez/whatsup than I received "Page not found" and I can`t found any *.deb file. Where I can get the latest version 1.2.7 of Whatsup ? The approved flow is to deinstall the oldest 1.2.5 before I install 1.2.7 - correct ? How can I save the conversation ? It`s a new registration necessary and I can use my existing code from WhatsApp ? I nedd this info very urgent. My wife need Whatsup so urgent :-) P.S.: Today she was shortly before to buy a new smartphone with another OS ... :-( ! THX for your support. |
Re: Whatsup - Harmattan client
Go to page 86. Download 1.2.7.Then uninstall 1.2.5,install 1.2.7.
Conversations should still be there. If you do not delete the account, you don't need to make a new registration.if so,follow the steps whatsup tells you to do. |
Re: Whatsup - Harmattan client
Hello Chris2012,
the link to 1.2.7 was already posted in this thread (4 pages back I think). I've uninstalled 1.2.5 and then installed 1.2.7 - all my conversations remained intact. You don't have to register again. Remember - DO NOT DELETE YOUR ACCOUNT in app settings, otherwise you'll lose all your data - the database will be erased. |
Re: Whatsup - Harmattan client
Uninstall 1.2.5 in application manager and install 1.2.7.
Everything is still there. |
Re: Whatsup - Harmattan client
Oh my god. It`s running !
Thanks a lot many times. In last minute I can preventive that my wife baught a new one with Android ... puuuh :D For my better understanding: Why it can happened this ? What was the reason therefore ? Why there was no update notification from my N9 ? |

Re: Whatsup - Harmattan client
Cepi I don't know if it's just me but I can't receive any written message (individual chat) from my contacts only voice message, I can receive written message from groups even I can send written message to individual chat and groups but I can't receive messages from individual chat, it's just me?

Re: Whatsup - Harmattan client
The message not appearing problem is caused by users who were using the official WhatsApp client before.
Seems like WhatsApp activates some encryption, and does not disable it when you're using Whatsup (again)... |

Re: Whatsup - Harmattan client
Hey, I`ve one question regarding Whatsup for Salfish.
In the forum here https://jollausers.de/thread/144-wha...=1158#post1158 was written that there is an legal problem (coming from Facebook) and therefore the devolper has stoped any developing for Whatsup. Can be this ? I`ve thinking about to buy a Jolla Phone ... but w/o Wahtsup makes no sense (for my wife) ! You know what is the status for the Jolla Phone ? |

Do you have developers mode on? if so, download FileZilla on your PC Connect your phone to the Wifi (your PC has to be connected to the same network) Then go to "SDK Connection" on your phone (it's an app that is available when you have enabled developers options) Inside that app, go to WLAN to see what is the IP of your phone to be able to connect with FileZilla. On your PC at FileZilla: Enter these information: host = "ip of your phone" username = user password = rootme port = 22 (if password is not correct, go and change it from the SDK Connections app) Then you can browse through the directories what CepiPerez told you |
Re: Whatsup - Harmattan client
Wow okay...
Isn't there any way to do this via. wired solution? Also (I'm sure all of you lot are aware) you cannot access all of those directories when the phone is connected to the PC via. USB as normal, isn't there any way to access these by normal means by any chance?? |
Re: Whatsup - Harmattan client
Hey. I'm having a little problem with the latest version of whatsup. I can send and receive group messages and I can send private messages but I won't receive any private messages. I've tried to reinstall the app and reflash my phone but it isn't working. Is there any fix for this?

Re: Whatsup - Harmattan client
No no no, I'm not trying to dismiss what you're saying, it's just I find it hard to believe that to access the root content of the mobile has to be done through a wireless method.
Th only other way of seeing this is when I use an app called Filebox on the N9, but of course this is not the same if one was to access it through a PC. It's also because I want to try something with it (connected directly via. wired), I wanted to do somesort of file recovery to see if I can dig any of the old databases if I am completely at loose ends in trying to obtain my original conversations :( |

See: http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php...58#post1298558 When you plug your phone in to your PC and choose this mode, your PC sees a new Ethernet device with IP address 192.168.2.14, and your phone is accessible over SSH on IP address 192.168.2.15. You can use ssh, FileZilla, WinSCP or PuTTY to connect. |

Re: Whatsup - Harmattan client
Why is net getting disconnected.
It comes in for a while and then goes off. Can i know when is the next update 1.2.8. being available it is really tough without whatsup :( |
Re: Whatsup - Harmattan client
Hi.
I'm experiencing periodic disconnections also. From time to time the server closes the socket. Then the client reconnects again, and so on. Attachments and messages work ok in the time between two consecutive disconnections... Maybe another 'change' from the server side? Here's an extract from my logfile (only the disconnections): Code:
~ $ grep Socket whatsup-log.txt |
