I think jolla tricked/trolled us all with non-keyboard-friendly UI just to suprise you all with a keyboard next summer. They now looking/working to find the best Keyboard munufacturer to deliver the next step of n900. Thats why they never showed us landscape. Either the phone don't work in landscape. That would make the phone unusble or the keeping it hidden to shock the world with a keyboard.

I really hope they are going for somthing creazy design wise like a discphone or something.

Only Chuck Norris knnows the answer for this.

I don't remember seeing any keyboard at all (virtual or physical) - except by recognizing that Marc at least was holding an N950.

The UI I reckon is at its very early stages, so more surprises to come I guess.... good thing is that there is an SDK to play with and code to check out, and IRC to chat and all that.

While I've seen only one thing that I really really liked, I still hold my hopes up, since it is an obvious evolution from the N9's UI (which I like). Not sure if whoever tried Nemo also saw some elements of it.

Ah well... lots of questions though... maps? hw quality? so many others...

ggabriel,

They showed a translucent vkb that is ditto to the n9's...Most probably using the same malit plugin (not sure)...

The dead, did you see an hardware keyboard? If not, did you saw any navigation arrows on the software keyboard?

Do you remember in what you on ie the keyboard was shown?

I'm trying to see if jolla have filed for any patents, but i can't find any Mybee I should try to get a few of Jolla's moves as my own patents so I can patent trolling like Apple.

No hw keyboard (unless you count the n950 demo); besides their homescreen isn't made for landscape yet...

No arrows on vkb but it was exactly like the n9 one except for having greater transparency... I presume since it uses the same as the n9 you can add arrows on the vkb like some have done easily on the n9...See the n9 keyboard themes thread; its very easy to get arrows (I haven't done it as i'm not a fan of arrows otherwise would have posted my screen)...

Would be a smart move to by Jolla to create some patents with sailfish before I do that or even worse... Apple :)

Apple can have all the patents it wants on UX's (sw patents are hugely questionable anyway), it wont count for anything if Jolla can demonstrate they already implemented aspects of the UX that Apple or whoever is claiming they've patented.
Sure maybe they should arrange some so they can be used defensively, as being dragged through the court/patent system can be expensive, it's really quite sad that they may have to resort to that though.
