That one month old leak was a RC that didn't make it into released for a good reason, won't you think? If it was good enough to be released do you think a month would have gone by or with everyone waiting for it they would have released?

My guess is that obviously that build had major issues that made them go back to testing, some of these issues are now becoming very obvious to those who chose to flash it...

allthough it is a half baked month old beta release of pr 1.2 ive found that

*battery is better through 1st day
*rootfs is much improoved
*can hold button to get blue symbol on qwerty pad
*streaming off large divx/avi files now works again
*gps signal seems to lock on quicker
*extra camera and video options
*new virtual keyboard layout
*nokia maps has seen slight improovements
*auto portrait for the browser
*no more ''more'' in the main menu
*video chat via skype/googletalk etc
*slight web browser speed increase
*web browser ui improovements with back button etc
*mynokia service now built into n900 for tips via sms like s60
*send many types of file via bluetooth without petrovich
*sms and missed call alerts on the swipe to unlock screen
*quite a few other slight improovements which add up nicely

so far even though its a beta release it hasnt caused my handset any problems yet and that is a big yet

i wouldnt recomend any user to flash this early beta release at all and i only done so as i have insurance on my n900 and love to mess around with my gadgets etc it has caused alot of users troubles and users should really wait for the offical pr 1.2 release where any of these bugs should hopefully be ironed out

as other users have sad if this release was good enough it would have been released by now on the servers it was obvously held back for a good reason and some users are finding this out

from the early beta that has been leaked though , pr1.2 should be really good and i hope it hits the servers soon

How many users' N900s were toasted? I haven't seen any reports of that. I saw reports that some users wanted to go back to the earlier version but when they tried they couldn't use their phones. Then I read that there was a fix for that.

Is that what you mean by toasted, or do you have more?

Only problem is after I overclocked to the Lehto kernel I can`t get the 'about' info back....the command doesn`t work now :(

Think ill give it until Tuesday, if nokia aint released it by then I may give the leaked a go....

Oh, and no more 'loading image' when you try to zoom in the picture!....its smoother now, also the browser scrolling is faster!

I haven't tried PR1.2L (I'm using 'L' for leaked), but have downloaded it in case the real PR1.2 doesn't come out soon.

The idea of Skype video is very tempting...
