Re: Odds and ends
So in Dial Central, my account number and my callback number are both the same?
Yeah, I already tried that but DC threw up an error with me on this. |

Re: Odds and ends
I think that I'm restoring the brightness settings too quickly after restarting MCE since the last 4 commands in the following script aren't taking.
How can I pause it for a moment so this doesn't happened? I've tried this but I'm getting a "/usr/bin/on: line 5: wait: pid 4 is not a child of this shell" error. blank=`gconftool-2 -g /system/osso/dsm/display/display_blank_timeout` gconftool-2 --type int --set /apps/modest/update_interval 1 gconftool-2 --type boolean --set /apps/modest/auto_update True sudo /etc/init.d/mce restart wait 4 /usr/bin/set-backlight `gconftool-2 --get /apps/adv-backlight/brightness` restore_value() { gconftool-2 --type $1 --set $2 `gconftool-2 --get $2` } gconftool-2 --type int --set /apps/osso/applet/osso-applet-display/turn_off_display 30 gconftool-2 --type int --set /apps/osso/applet/osso-applet-display/brightness_period 30 gconftool-2 --type int --set /system/osso/dsm/display/display_dim_timeout 30 gconftool-2 --type int --set /system/osso/dsm/display/display_blank_timeout 30 |

Re: Odds and ends
Nuts.
5 years of owning this piece and you would think I would know such a stupid thing by now. :) |
Re: Odds and ends
Finally.
After all these questions, and that stupid long thread about MCE, I finally got it fully working. It was just a matter of waiting two seconds after restarting MCE that made all the difference. Thanks for your patience with me chief. :) I'm so glad to put this to rest now. |
Re: Odds and ends
Wow!
Another question that I had so long ago in this thread I finally solved as well. :) So yeah, the reason why Vagalume (last.fm client) wasn't at full blast was because I needed to go to App Manager -> Settings -> Control panel -> Sounds -> then crank up the Master Volume. I can't believe I'm just now catching this. |

Most sound apps provide their own volume control but it is always a percentage of the master volume control, unless the app's volume directly changes the master volume. |
Re: Odds and ends
Well, pyradio was solely dependent on the last or current volume in media player. I got lucky in catching that one.
But yeah, Vagalume was/is dependent on a percentage of the master volume. Real quick, is it possible to go a little beyond 100% of this master volume control setting? |
