From everything I was told on yesterday - you wont walk out with one today, though you 'might' have a chance of getting a phonecall on fri to say that it is ready for you if they get enough stock in

Im thinking of doing this as well, but not cancelling my MPD order and accepting whatever order comes first...

I did that yesterday, they said they will have it in stock friday or monday and he said if i make the contract probably i will get it at the same time with MPD orders, sorry mate :(

hi every one I'm in nokia shop market street manchester just ask the guy if Thay got any n900 in stock he said no we didn't receive any yet but hopefully getting delivery friday then I can pick one up.

AHHHH!!!! Why can't these people communicate with each other?!

Hmm...Whilst Friday was obviously mentioned before... I think I'm inclined to believe the more conservative estimate of "2 weeks" now. I think I trust the webshop more than actual instore places as at least the webshop is dealing with our orders... but grr.... ray of hope perhaps?!

So - between Saturday and Saturday week, we will all have our N900's. Pleeease ship mine on Friday... I've been a good boy this year!! They'll turn up on Saturday if shipped Friday by Royal Mail recorded....

Just came on here to post this! YAY!! Bu also a little bit (very minor) booooo.... because I'm off to Birmingham for 1 week on Friday evening. So it'll be sat in some dirty RM depot until I come back.

Here a quick question someone might be able to answer. Can my OH go and pick up a delivery for me? If so how/what would she need? (she'll still be home during the week I'm in Brum but not home for when it'll prob be delivered) - I am assuming that mine will be amongst the first dispatched due to my 28th Sept pre-order and that fact that numerous people have been told that the first batch of stock will complete Sept pre-orders.

Exactly the same here! I'm due for an upgrade on my current Voda contract in 6 months, so hopefully can get it but I too would only do it with a hardware keyboard.

I'm also on 12 month on the N900 for the exact same reason - no 18month contracts for me with a dev device thank you!

Looks like Steve was right all along everyone! What a great bloke he is!

So maybe you can just pop down to a Nokia Retail store if you have one near you and get it on contract that day.

See, was sending that email, too hard. Even if it did not contain a date/time it would keep us up to date and stop worrying and getting mad here in the forums.

Doubt it lol. Someone should get on web chat and say they heard this rumour from a friend of a friend thah they're gonna ship all handsets out and all orders filled by the 9th to see what bull crap story they come up with this time.

I really hope they aren't lying to us again to stop people cancelling pre-orders! My aging heart (was 25 when I pre-ordered, think my "heart age" is going on 65 now!!) can't take another disappointment like this!
