I think your file is not corrupted : on my Windows explorer, th file size is "411 KB" and with the "du" command line, it is 416.

Are you in root mode when you make the "chmod" command ? (sudo gainroot)

Then should try running AngryBirdsSeasons with the remote SSH(after setting up a palm folder),If it's still not running, then please somebody do a full debugging because the error reason is obscured.(Maybe -rw is needed on the files(=x)) also do a dry-run with desktopgen -n and tell me what's happening.

Wow,I don't even believe they are any games that require PDL_GetLocation support!

Thanks for reporting
Again alpha channel request! I think this one really needs a fix!
(Also I think it would be easier if you do a dry-run of the app with desktopgen -n instead of executing it in X-Terminal)SSH is better than both.
So much be appreciated if you report them in the Thread:http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=66984

Settlers not working in preenv 0.1.3:
Code:

PDL:Application asked for device ID

(Invaild ID?)

I can confirm this : I have no issues with The Settlers with Preenv 0.1.1. But now, with the last version (0.1.3), the game doesn't start anymore :(.

Re: Preenv webOS games compatibility list

To revert to 0.1.1's uid behaviour, just type:

echo -n 0000 > ~/.preenv-uid

on a (non-root) terminal.

GuitarGuru 2010-12-23 04:32

Re: Preenv webOS games compatibility list

First I would like to thank javispedro for Preenv!
Secondly, did anyone figure out why the sound is so choppy?
At first when I installed preenv, the sound was bad and choppy, then from one moment to another (I probably did something but don't know what) the sound was ok for about 2 or 3 weeks. Then again yesterday the sound was back at it's original choppiness!
Anyone figured this out. There should be solution somewhere since it's obviously not canstantly this way.
Thanx in advance!

Ok, I try this and now, The Settlers is working again. Thank you ;).

@GuitarGuru : I never have this sound issue. Are you sure it comes from Preenv install ? (as long as "preenv" in a terminal or in a service, I don't think it can have any influence on the N900 behavior)
Are you sure it is not an hardware issue ? (problem with speakers or jack port)

Now downloaded the SDK, everyone should see this(Ported to Meego mcompositor enabled, remember Meego supports composition and a free autorotate):
Glyder 2 (with thanks to andy!) and Guitar Hero 5:
P.S:Sorry, had more to share but I have reached maximum so I have to share some of their best

Happily:
These games are tested and warrantied working with the new code(Yes,source code modified):
X-Plane series(Airliner,Carrier,Racing,Shuttle,Extreme)
UNO
Super KO Boxing
Skater
Giant fighting robots
FIFA 2010
Deer 3D(With significant slowdowns)
How to train your dragon(with thanks to govprog)
Total number of 12 games(or even more.)
Sadly:
1:Only worked with Meego Emulator done through VMWare(Images caught by fraps.)
2:I am sure javispedro will taunt me again, so I will keep them until another one shares the code!
P.S:I have worked on and resolved the performance issue caused by composition, the key is:Reducing the resolution to 480x320 and rescale it to 800x480 with Scaling(increases FPS after composition form 7 or 9 to 24 or 30(Caught by fraps with VMware) but it will cause the graphics to be poor and looking worse(It's just looking like a artifacted image, that looks a little awful.)

I've told you a lot of times that I WANT CODE. Talk is cheap (specially your random bits of trivia).

And copying and pasting introductory code from a OpenGL book is not enough.

If you "fixed" "12 games" why do you post stock images of the games? Why do the images have the iPhone4/Pre screen ratio instead of the N900 one? And what does Meego (what Meego?) have to do with this?

I won't answer any single post from yours until you send me a properly formatted patch. I think I've already answered too many of them.

And stop spamming me on gitorious.

Hope not to scare the rest of contributors ;). Merry christmas!

1: Did you see the resolutions?
2:Try to find and claim THIS ONE(I know s.b like you can!) (How to train your dragon intro.)
3:Have removed the previous ones because of your claim(and because I also scare Apple's claim)
4:Taunting me won't change any thing,so please stop doing this or I am going to report you!
With RegardsP.S: (Please excuse me if something like this caused a divide between us,however,it's not an argue, sorry if I have made you angry again.)P.S.S: Thank you for this javispedro, this time I will carefully watch for any copyrighted materials before I share.
sorry for your inconvenience, but the reality is I can't publish the codes, since I am using expensive Visual Studio to publish, and they won't bypass any implementation errors(I didn't mean that) so please excuse me again and let me go my own way yet(until I get familiar to VS2010) can run them on an emulator but...
P.S.S.S:To be honest,I didn't copied them from an opengl book ,really.

I also have the problem with HAWX,

that i cant change bombs missiles and other weapons.
This issue makes the game unplayable at later missions.
Any solution yet?

Re: Preenv webOS games compatibility list

I just wonder a lil' about the code made for resizing. Some games look bad because they're stretched to 15:9 when they're originally around 4:3. Would it be possible to add an argument to preenv to make it have the original aspect ratio? Just a simple question, I'm not desperate, just asking. :)

Nokia 5700 2010-12-26 11:40

Re: Preenv webOS games compatibility list

Well, obviously it requires modifying the source-code by removing those lines and building preenv with that modification. Seems easy, but might not be. (Well, at least it doesnt seem creeping easy to me, because i only have a single working IDE for Maemo atm, which is Qt Creator.)
Was that understandable? :P

and for moderators if you want to ban me (but i didn't publish any links) please warn me first at least so i can remove my post .

That's not the point. You know that piracy is not tolerated here. And yet you still post to help users pirate. And this is not the first time either.

I haven't bought a game because it is not officially released for the N900. If the developers want my money, they should offer their support for this platform. Javispedro pointed out there there isn't more than 5hrs work. I will not buy a game where I know that if I have problems, the authors will shrug and say: "Your platform is not supported".

Yet I do not parade around here posting illegal links. You endanger the forum and this whole project just to get a few thanks?? Post illegal stuff where ever you like, but keep this thread and forum clean. You should be ashamed not just banned.

first of all i'm not ashamed of ****, if these games were developed by maemo5 developers than you are right, and **** the thanks, i ain't no karma whore :D .
i was trying to be nice on christmas, not all users were able to get the games free, so i was helping a couple of noobs.
and it would be a lot more polite if you just say : i think your post advertise piracy, and thats not tolerated here, please delete it if you don;t want to get banned.
so yes i;m going to delete it, but don't even think its becasue of you, i just went through the TMO rules, and i might get banned, so...

After messing with it a while, I was able to get Angry Birds Seasons to scale properly without breaking anything else. The problem is, mouse only registers on a little less than the left half the screen. Works great actually since the slingshot is on the left side, but you can only play half of the levels.
