Possibly because /tmp only has 1MB of space and cannot download the whole file (or something) Change the script to point somewhere else. i.e. /opt/tmp (assuming there is a /opt/tmp)

If you cannot do that just hang back a couple of hours while It chugs through autobuilder, then download from the repo.

i am not desperate to brick my device..i installed kernel power 47 thru app manager.like installed the enhanced kernel power and settings from there..then when i installed nitdroid kernel power 47 was gone..then after googling a lot i finally managed to install it back..jst that way i want to install the kernel power 48 from the app manager or update it thru xterminal. i jst want an easier way.since m following this forum frm a long tym i c that nw evrybody is not facing any prob.is it fully stable.i dint understand how to install all those scripts.jst wanted few commands if its possible.and wanted to kno thae advantages.whether it is still satble or not..thats it.

Re: [Announce] kernel-power v48

Autobuilder is working back again, so probably it's just matter of hours, before it'll hit repos. Anyway, in other topic, there was info that only webpage uploading was down, and manual solutions worked.

WFT?? You are stupid? I do not have a time to test. This is version for testers. Last month a lot of users ask when I release new builds, so I relased untested version for testers.

If testers say it is stable I can push it to extras-devel. But I do not have time to install it into my N900 :(

I do not want to push not working software into extras-devel!

To Pali:

I installed for couple of days, nil problem observed. Reboot problem is solved I think, no crash no hang, battery consumption seem no change
, you did a good job already.

I dont know why so many ppl ask stable or not, why dont test yourself.....

@pali: did you enable DSP patch?

@all others - if answer to the above is YES, are you still able to watch all videos, make video calls, record videos with camera, etc...

Re: [Announce] kernel-power v48

yes, your (I think second) DSP kernel patch is enabled.

I know I should not response to this....

When the new version hits the extras-devel some one will announce it here right away. At the moment, you are like that little child on the back seat asking "are we there yet?"
Also, application manager should let you know that there is an update waiting if you have the -devel repository enabled.

But, I am not a developer just a curious chap who wants to try things out now and then. I've been thinking to update to v48 using the links on the first page but I haven't; I can wait for couple of more days or hours and avoid downloading packages separately and cleaning up afterwards. If you are not ready to do your homework and install the packages manually, then be patient

I think no. Builded deb packages are for testing only. Then they will be in extras-(devel, testing) you can mirror this version.

again. it is not for end users.

Re: [Announce] kernel-power v48

720p dsp patch is included with v48. What does that patch exactly do and what it doesnt (as i understand its only for 720p video playback for now running dsp at 530MHz). So 530MHz dsp overclock is needed. But cant titans kernel only overclock dsp to 520MHz? If i say lock a frequency:volt, dsp to push dsp to 530 MHz, am i really using dsp at 530MHz? or shouldnt dsp based on the cpu frequency remain at default value?

So i hope you forgive my ignorance on this issue. How can 720p be tested using v48? I tried 950:54, 530 and so far 720p playback was a no go. But it very well be how i tested it. I need to look into it more

EDIT: jakiman has also tried and could not play 720p video

The patch is not a magic wand, it just enables newer DSP codecs and userlibs to run. BTW you should be able to watch higher res videos than before because of increased framebuffer memory.

@pali : again please check series file if DSP patch is enabled at all

You haven't answered my question. How are you certain that dsp is working at 530MHz when titans kernel levels it out at 500 MHz for 900 MHz cpu frequency. Are you sure that by locking it at 530MHz it is actually working at dsp 530MHz or kernel-config show is just lying.

its a NO on both fronts. No .mp4 encoded 720p playback (1280x544) OR (1280x720) and No on being able to view higher resolution videos. I think its best to check if dsp patch is enabled and if it is, what are the grounds to test it best?

It seems that this fix isn't included on PK v48: http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=72789

Plans to include it ?

Just to avoid misunderstanding - Tigerite already included this path on Pali's git tree. So, any reasons why it wasn't included, or it's just by mistake?

pali 2011-07-13 07:24

Re: [Announce] kernel-power v48

Please send me diff file or git repository with this patch. Then I can iclude it.

Patch is included and deb packages recompiled.

Sorry if I cause some misunderstanding, patch by no means touches DSP or CPU clocks, those are still controlled by KP settings. And if you say that 520 is a DSP maximum clock for 900 CPU clock, ok.

And as it is still not clear - YOU CANNOT PLAY 720p VIDEOS WITH THIS KERNEL PATCH ONLY, YOU NEED APPROPRIATE DSP CODECS AND GSTREAMER/OMX LIBRARIES, please reread my previous posts on the matter.

And it is a little miracle to me if nothing is broken, having in mind HUGE patch size.

I see that gst-dsp project on code.google.com has also TI DSP binaries. Cannot be used on n900 with your kernel patch?

Those are exactly things that my patch allows to use ;) . Plus Android DSP binaries and TI-OpenMax libraries from TI site.

EDIT:
and the man i mentioned several posts ago (Felipe) is the very author of gst-dsp

Re: [Announce] kernel-power v48

So with your kernel patch and binaries from gst-dsp is possible to play 720p videos (at least with gst-launch)?

And are TI DSP binaries from gst-dsp google code project redistributable?
