the singaporean version 16 gig black got detected by NSU too!

i have a question though: since through the NSU, it takes 1 gig and OTA it is 200mb...why is that? i only have the 16 gig one..so every MB is crucial. lol

Don't worry, it's not using up 800MB than what you currently use. It is overwriting what you already have. Also, OTA is around 1GB also if you count all the apps/games it updates. Even the flash FW image from Navifirm is around 1.1GB uncompressed.

ok weird, the phone just finished updating but the NSU on my computer says "failed"..but when i checked the software in the phone, it is PR 1.1. any clues?

After the initial 200mb dl you will have to also update a good few apps as well.

The 1gig does it all in one go.

Warrentaye: do you have the resource app installed? if you do, can you let me know how much memory is used? Mine says 870mb used. this is quite weird.

Can you play video on youtube with the native web browser . That was posible with my N9 but now it isn't . It just keep turning around and around . I must turn to m.youtube to watch video on youtube.

Q: What are the 2 leftmost icons (the "macro flower" and "pictures") when you open the Gallery application? They both display the exact same images?

Q: Why doesn't video clips taken with the camera go to Videos application? What DOES go to Video application?

Videos in MyDocs/Movies will appear in the Videos application. when you connect your n9 to your pc through usb put the videos in the Movies folder and they will appear in the videos application after some time

Does anyone know of a way or app that allows you to choose EDGE or 3G connections from the main dropdown screen where your profiles, volume, availability, and Internet connection are displayed? It's fairly awkward to always have to navigate several clicks into Settings to change this. I miss my N900 app which would just let me choose from the screen that pops up when you hit the lock button.

In the dropdown screen, can't you just click on the current connection and then from there select whatever connection you want to change to ?

Speaking of connections, the wifi is so weak I literally have to walk 3 ft from the wireless router to have my n9 pick it up.its there any way to increase the strength of picking it up like the n900?

They don't display the same pictures for me. The "mountain" shows only the pictures from the camera. The "flower" shows all pictures.

The flower icon is all pictures on the device, the picture icon is only pictures you have taken yourself on the camera.

Ok, thanks. I only have pictures taken with the N9 camera so I see the same images with both icons. But neither shows the wallpapers? Or do you guys also see wallpaper images with the "flower"?

For general connections yes, but nothing as far as I can see for changing between EDGE and 3G. I have 1 option for my T-Mobile connection and the rest are all wifi options.

Would be nice if I could select 2G, 3G, or dual just like the sound profiles.

Ok another problem other than the wifi that I haven't figured out and the double swipe to answer the p phone from the l lock screen is that whenever I disconnect from the internet and reconnect I have to go into availability and log back into my gtalk and fb chat, is there any way to have out setup so that happens automatically upon connection?

I have the exact same problem. Setting your internet connection to automatic seems to be the only solution...but then you're always online, and that eats up your battery really fast. There should be another option, I hope it will be available in the next update.

iv been having a problem, every few hours it is asking for me to re-enter my passwords for all my accounts again..

is there any reason why it needs to request my passwords when i have already entered it in?

(it usually requests my password when i open the app to that relevant account, but only once every few hours or so)

Is there any solution to the wifi weakness, it is unbearable...I might as well just use 3g exclusively with how weak this is.

Twitter has vanished from Feeds this morning despite all options relating to it being enabled! PR1.0.

**Edit** Ok so twitter dropped out at 6:00am and came back just now...however now FB Feed is now mysteriously absent!.... ?!?

**Double Edit** Back to normal now. Booom! how odd.

I've been pretty busy with things other than dispending sarcasm and occasional help on TMO of late. Could someone please link to or write a 2-line summary on the progress of PR1.1 OTA rollout? I'm still not seeing it on my thinks-it's-on-StarHub 64GB.

I have the same StarHub 64GB. It is the singapore device.
Just look for Nokia Singapore on the web and you'll find information
about updates.

Here is a direct link to the update status.

Hey. I'm just wondering, why does my N9 have these problems?

1. My videos appear in my music library. When it plays them, it just crashes. How do I fix it?
2. Every time I turn it on, it says "Connect to internet?" I don't know if it's just me or I hadn't experienced this somewhere...
3. Why does the music player read the filename of the .mp3 as the title? I had to rename it all manually, and it still persisted on some tracks.
4. How do you shrink the space allocated for apps? it says 4.2 GB is reserved, and I don't usually install that much apps.
5. Is there an app like Nimbuzz or any YouTube downloaders like in Symbian?
6. How do I disable the auto-rotation? It's annoying, while using swype in bed.
7. Is a screen protector recommended? it came without one and I was told not to since most of the gestures involve swiping from the edge. Does anyone use a screen protector?
8. Is there a place where I can string a lanyard? I usually do that with other phones...

Sorry for all the questions, I just got this last monday and it's an all new OS...

2. sounds like you have something that needs an internet connection like mail but no automatic connections set up.
3. This means it doesn't like the tagging, try to tag the mp3's with another program.
4. re partition i guess, but not sure if there is a way to do that.
5. there are youtube downloaded linux scripts you could use in the terminal ( i have not tested though)
6. i'm not aware of there being a way to do this.
7. if it came with a protector it must have been a freebie thrown in buy the people you bought it from (unless your talking about the shipping protector, which isn't recommended for use). I don't use one and have no scratches, other people say they have scratches on their screen, but it is gorilla glass, so i've not been bothered with one.

1.mp4. should i convert it with the H264 codec?
2. I see... does this INQUIRER app (local) cause it or the fMobi 7 day trial?
3. I use MP3Tag. Is there another one?
7. It didn't have one, the screen was bare and it was in a plastic.
8. Won't it distort the fit?

5) I use cutetube to download youtube videos, nice :D. It's a paid app from Ovi Store, any questions, please direct them to 'marxian', the developer who is also a member of this forum

7) Use screen protector is best. I'm using the original one meant for N9, it doesnt cover whole screen, just the LCD section, swiping is not a problem. N9 is officially released in my country, so it's not hard to get screen protector. Some people have found a cheaper way by cutting the screen protector for tablet & paste it on the N9

I'm starting to get a little bit miffed with the N9...

just annoying little things that prevent it from being a hassle free experience.

1) Gmail. Had SMTP server issues, went to MfE, read a fix about changing language to US English, all worked well until today when it randomly starts with the SMTP errors again. Cant send email. V annoying!

2) Feed. Using Fbook & Twitter. Randomly stops updating feed with one or the other. again just annoying.

3) SatNav has been shakey at best.

All I want is a nice stable existance!!

+1 for CuteTube! Sure it costs 2 dollars/euros/currency units, but that's pretty cheap for what you get. Marxian is friendly and responsive, too. Support the community while getting what you want! :)

Let the twitter and facebook appz opened in the multitask view seems to fix the feed updating issue for me atm ..
