I am in open mode and my phone is connected to my pc, I turn on and off always and the box only appears.

Good since you are in open mode we do another method using a Linux installation / LiveCD...


This link has the instructions which you should follow till step 7 then once your drives are mounted on your PC you can simply delete any fdb* folders from /usr/share/themes/ and at the same time replace your base and blanco folders too...

My db has both the base and blanco folders zipped up if you don't have a backup of them...

Device Installation

Provided here are Linux commands.

1. Unplug the usb cable from your phone.

2. Turn your phone off.

3. Load the N950 MeeGo kernel and N950 MeeGo rescue initrd using flasher:

$ sudo flasher --load -k vmlinuz-2.6.32.20112201-11.2-adaptation-n950-bootloader -n initrd.img-rescue-2.6.32.20112201-11.2-n950 --boot
4. Insert the usb cable.

5. Wait about minute until a new USB mass storage device appears on the host.

You should now have three partitions: /dev/sdX1 with is MyDocs, /dev/sdX2
which is MeeGo 1.2 Harmattan rootfs, and /dev/sdX3 which is the MeeGo 1.2
Harmattan home directory.
6. Find exact partition's names found on your Nokia N9/N950. Mine had /dev/sdb2 as N9's rootfs.

$ fdisk -l

I understand you may be panicky due to your phone not working but please read what i post and what that wiki page says... I already mentioned about Linux as does the wiki page... Not reading properly and doing things may just end up screwing your phone even further...

The script version is the complete theme.

The DEBs (as far as I know) still arent as complete as the script version mentioned above and are about 90% of it.
[Missing: boot video fix, orientation fix, app splash screen fixes, calendar app fixes, maps app fixes, clock and status bar fixes.]



Also, everyone can take my themes and modify them freely, as long as its stated that its originally my work... As long as its free anyway. If I ever make the full theme in a DEB I will be asking for some money.

So, I tried to install it using the script, but I saw lots of cp errors, but it rebooted too fast so I couldn't read it, neither I could press ctrl-c. Now my N9 hangs at the square at booting, I think because it can't find the boot video... Any solutions?


EDIT: Just read the sdk mode solution. I'll try that first ;)

I keep wanting to install this but I always forget when I get home and I cant do it at work because the website where the deb file is located is blocked...

and Im not brave enough (nor skilled) to do the full method

Well I got some issues. I installed it, but all of my text messages are gone, and when I try to send one it doesnt seem to work and does not show up in my messages list, it simply says (NO MESSAGES)

EDIT: I restarted a couple times and now it seems to be working alot better.

Man this looks good all dark

I really liked the look of the theme, but I had to uninstall it (deb file as Im not leet enough to do the full method), the apps I used the most were pretty much unusable with text remaining dark and the background going dark.

what you did do was really great.

Maybe the video is an older version?

If you used .deb to install just uninstall to go back to default theme or if you used script read first post thoroughly...

I think you should do this:

To revert to default theme:


1. - Open Terminal app and enter these commands:

devel-su
rootme [root password; default is shown]
sh /home/user/MyDocs/fdb/*colour*/default.sh

you must have the zip file of FDB also..
