It was tgalal himself who announced the May 1 release and created this expectation.

Now the sanctimonious ones are coming out to rant against those whose expectations have been raised by tgalal himself. If there is no interest shown on this app why should tgalal even bother to complete it? If everybody waits quietly this thread would be dead. Is this a motivation to the developer?

It's just like people ranting against speculators spoiling a market. But they do not realize that if there are no speculators there is no market.

Considering that this is a *development* thread in the *development* board, I would expect the thread to be much more quiet than it is right now, and lacking this slew of off topic, mindless, and downright insulting posts that I'm seeing now. If a developer wanted to gauge interest he can post in the Applications board instead.

Also guess what, last minute showstoppers happen, get over it. I personally wish tgalal didn't give a release date and went with my "every time you ask it gets delayed" approach.

relax everyone its not a scam just that these things need time and if its not finished whats the point of releasing it the majority of you will be whining more about it... If most of you know better why don't you write all those scripts and port whatsapp to your n900 or n9, stop spaming this thread and have a life when its done it'll be available....

well what kinda question was it! when Tgalal has stated he is having some last minute issues!AND he is trying to resolve this for OUR benefit!

honestly if I was Tgalal I would get it up and running show pics of it working and tell the community its delayed by a few months so all these babies can cry some more!

Seriously, you kids doubting him because he had last minute coding problems, OMG thats never happened in the world of apps or software!! Wow Nokia never delayed software updates because of bugs did they??

Its pathetic, bugs happen all the time and can be random, he has been working his butt off for us and you ungrateful sods really put developers off.

Grow up, the way your acting I wouldn't actually be surprised if TGalal just gave up and didn't bother, you fools don't deserve it with your rude and completely unbelievable comments.

This thread should be closed, n the kids should be banned from this forum, you aren't the kinda people we want around...

@TGalal If i were you, I would not do a public Beta, just choose a few non whiney people to do some testing for you, that way you don't get any kids moaning about bugs, you will get more substantial and usable bug reports :)

And why is everyone still on this may 1 release date extravaganza? Tgalal clearly said he got into some last minute bugs and he's fixing them.....so obviously the release date is delayed a bit.

Everyone really needs to calm down...

Clearly we are all excited to see WhatsApp on our devices and Tgalal has no doubt been working hard when he can to make that happen. I wish he didn't give a release date and just said it will be released when it's done, because delays in software development nearly always happen and remember it's just one guy doing all the work!

So my message to Tgalal is take your time and release it when it's ready, and of course thanks for your continued efforts.

On another point, I really have to say that this thread has really gone to hell and it should be closed and deleted. The sentiment in here with all the negativity, unhelpful whining and badgering is against the principals and spirit of TMO, which I have always believed is one of the best forums and communities online. It's very disappointing and I hope one of the moderators closes this down because this is all really unproductive and unnecessary. Tgalal can start an Announcement thread once he has released WhatsApp.
