Re: [v0.2-8] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

Thanks for an awesome app. Because of this I could move over to my Jolla full time and leave my Lumia 925 in a drawer!

I have some feedback on general usability, though. Hope you don't mind my input? I realise UI / usability probably isn't a top priority and I don't expect anything to happen overnight.

- Searching for contacts is a bit funny: you can do it in your conversations view, but not in the Add contacts-view. Should perhaps be the other way around. (By default, I don't think people want to add everyone to their conversations view)
- Maybe change place of "Disconnect" and "Settings" in the pulley menu. At least personally I am more likely to go into settings than disconnect myself from WhatsApp

Feature requests:
- Add feature where half-written messages stay unsent in conversation when user jumps to another view.

BTW: is there a way to reverse having synced entire phone book into conversations view?

Thanks again for this life-saver app!

Re: [v0.2-8] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

@cjp there is a alphabet sorting and fastscrool in add contact dialog.
and use bugtracker for posting your issues and wishes
btw: you can delete contacts. there is a standart context menu on long tap

Re: [v0.2-8] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

@coderus
what is happening when mitakuuluu/jolla uses connection while a message is sent? will it try to send the message until it's successful sent or will it "crash" and the message won't be sent?
if the message won't be sent.. is there the possibility to add a "try again" button? just like in the official whatsapp client

coderus 2014-04-01 13:30

Re: [v0.2-8] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

it wont be sent. make an issue in guthub for that.

Re: [v0.2-8] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

@coderus, I seem to be having an issue with a specific contact, I am trying to add it explicitly or sync all phonebook without success. This contact also cannot send me anymore messages, they are all undelivered. Any ideas on the cause of this? I have uninstalled the application rebooted and reinstalled it. This didn't have any effects. Thanks for this great application!

Re: [v0.2-8] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

@coderus. Can I upgrade from v0.2-3 to v0.2-8 without losing anything?

coderus 2014-04-01 14:56

Re: [v0.2-8] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

@cquence you blocked this contact. you need to unblock it obliviously :)
@DavidJ you can save /home/nemo/.whatsapp/whatsapp.db before update and return it after. after launching integrity will be checked and with some luck old database will be accepted. or not.

Damn, for me too... Now I've got a bricked phone.

And the interface, for what I saw, was like the Android one. Quite ugly. ;)

Might be a bug. I found some of my contacts randomly blocked in the past with version 1.

If I set "show always as offline", will then messages sent to me shown as delivered (i.e. the second dot) on the sender side?

BTW if you send a message to one of your contacts and you experiencing the bug that the contact is shown as online in Mitakuuluu but is actually not online your message will get the 2 dots though the contact didn't read this message.

Yes, this is annoying. Can you send a log to Coderus so he might get a clue of the bug (online but not really)?

Ok thanks for clarification but this doesn't change anything at the bug with Mitakuuluu. :)

Edit: So this means that if I set my Mitakuuluu to 'show always as offline' and receive a message into my just opened Mitakuuluu client but don't read this message the sender will get 2 dots (checks) at the message?

In the latest version I no longer see color-coded sent/received checkmarks. Bug or feature? If feature, could you make it optional? There is still some kind of indicator in the line background, but it's very hard to see if a msg was received.

always offline means your last seen wont be change, but you still can receive any message, the sender will still see there is 2 dot or tick

I was going to report that too. I have a dark ambience, and that dark grey indicator is really hard to see. I switched to Bubbles theme as a temporary workaround.

Re: [v0.2-9] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

hi all
i still have the problem with messages which are not delivered or sent. i think it's because of the 'super sleep mode' from jolla... as coderus said a few posts before, i deleted my account and everything else. but since then it is even more worse. is there a way to 'disable' the sleep mode? or is there any other solution? :)

EDIT: or is it possible that the problem is on whatsapp's side? they were down again a few hours ago

After v0.2-9 harbour-mitakuuluu-server is continuously using CPU time, when before it usually sat at zero.

Just an observation.

I have the same issue as said before with message delivery... is it something related with mitskuuluu or more for jolla suspend mode?

it would be.good to understand this! I can try to help to debug! :)

Re: [v0.2-9] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

A big THANK YOU to coderus for this application which is better and better.
I use Mitakuuluu daily and my Jolla is always alternatively connected to wifi and 3G. I have both on.
I have no issues with message delivery as these are instantly delivered as long the other part is online as well.
Also, no issues with CPU consumption or wifi power drawing.
In a normal usage my phone last 3 days.

Looking forward for emoji to be included as well.

A happy Mitakuuluu user. :)

Thanks ! I already have Penguins emoji keyboard installed, but beside white-black graphics, I found switching keyboard quite unproductive.
I personally prefer to have whatsapp emoji installed only in Mitakuuluu and not in the whole system.

Re: [v0.2-9] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

Disable all keyboards you don't use, so you only have emoji and your language.

Then you can switch between keyboards very fast without the need to select one manually.

v0.2-10

UI bugfixies
Fixed location
Some engine bugfixies
New conversation skin: Modern, but it's very buggy at moment. I don't care if you have troubles. Bugreports will not be accepted.

The new skin screwed up the Bubbles skin too which was working just fine.
