It looks like that viajoasi website is using a URL format similar to a WMS server. Try this URL Format:

http://viajoasi.com.ar/c.php?VERSION...PTIONS=INIMAGE
(On your Nokia device, tap-and-hold this URL and select "Copy Address", then paste it into Maemo Mapper's "Manage Repositories" dialog in the "URL Format" field.)

You'll need to install proj in order for WMS-style repositories to work. Let me know if it works, so I can add it to the Maemo Mapper Repositories thread.

Possibly, but you may have to use GPSBabel in order to get the files into the GPX format (which Maemo Mapper supports).

I already asked somewhere else, sorry.. but is there a way to see the details of the POIs (description) without the slightly annoying process of long tap -> POI -> View-edit ?

I have some details such as phone numbers in my POIs and I wish I could access them easily

Thanks gnuite!, it worked like a charm. Little slow to load the tiles though, but i guess its a server problem.

Please help as I have tried but failed to fix my installation of maemo mapper on my n800 with 0s2008. Each time I start up mapper all I see is a black screen with a white dot (which I can move around) and a black and white line which also moves around. I was able to see googlemaps the other day but now nothing. I have uninstalled and reinstalled to no avail.

Please ignore my previous post as I have now managed to download maps to correct memory device and all is working. I had to delete all previous files as the program was not looking in the correct place for the maps.

It's a great asset, all these people discussing this wonderful gadget, at the same time it is it's own downfall, for I have now spent several hours today reading, cross-reading and re-reading what feels like MBs of html on this forum, yet are none much wiser :0)

What I reckon is missing is the MM primer, that takes newbies around the whole world of MM in a minute (and don't come with the "quick help on first run", because I did read it, and it's not what I mean ¦¬] ) For example, there seem to be people out there who are using MM1.4 on OS2008. If someone who is not ideologically involved in this schism could write a gentle article on the pros and cons for each, that'd be lovely for confused little ones!

Is PC-based download for either (or both?) of those versions possible, reliable? I thought I found the answers to these and other questions, but often found another superseding post later. An up to date collections of such issues would be great!

The main reason for reading my eyes out was that until very recently I used to own a N770, and MM on it was lovely when it worked! However, almost every time that I tried to download more than 1 or 2 MB of maps in one go, it would crash out at some point, and take all other running apps with it. So I repented, only ever used MM on it's own - still vanishes while downloading maps.

So for various reasons I recently bought a brand spanking new N800. Flashed the latest OS2008 + Installed MM2.4.1. Guess what? Downloading maps crashes the application!

All the cards have sufficient memory. I am being a good boy, not running anything else in the background. I am not plugged in, running off battery (the whole idea of a mobile device is that it is mobile, non? Anyway, the N770 certainly did the vanishing trick with plug in power too).

Is this a simple issue that I have merely managed to miss while trawling through these monster threads? Or is this a bug, shall I file it? I know that I am not the only one with this problem, but finding it after two days with my brand new 800 makes me wonder whether I am doing something incredibly stupidly wrong?

Last not least what is really making me angry is that every time it does the vanishing act, it sets the map coordinates for the download to my current position! Please, please, gnuite, could you enable some kind of memory here, so that it remembers the last requested coordinates? Even if it did not crash, quite often I try some large scale maps first, and then think "go on, I'll have one set of closer tiles" - but then I have to type in all the coordinates again, even with a bluetooth keyboard that is a pain!

Only other apps installed so far is sdict with japanese dictionaries, ssh server and client and ... that's it!
