No, I got a Nokia 3510i at the moment :( I broke my old phone back in august and then heard about the N900. Talk about an upgrade :D

They were too busy to ask me if I wanted any help, which is kind of odd when you usually walk into a phone shop you get jumped on, anyway, why would I want to slow down your N900 getting to you?? :p

Lol, cool. I wasn't trying to be confrontational btw.

I just hope you're right and they were N900s. I really wanted to take mine to the N900 meet up tomorrow...

It sounds like the best odds to get a N900 is to go to a meetup! Forget buying one. THE ODDS ARE AGAINST YOU!

To be fair I'd assume most people would have a camera phone nowadays.
It would not surprise me if the delivery did go to the Southampton store, as all the emails I've got from them all have the Southampton address on it. I just wish their tariffs were the same instore so I could of just got one today. Guess it feels like xmas eve.

Personally I don't have a problem with either the development delay or the shipping one. What I do have a problem with is twitter, this forum and the internet in general is full of people asking where can they buy the N900 and when can they buy it. It completely dominates the discourse of the product and Nokia have no answer for it. That's poor release planning and poor marketing but Nokia does it every single time.

They are not shipping 3 million now. Normal process is to air-ship until the channels have enough supply to cover demand and once you have inventory to cover demand (under the boat delivery window), you then begin shipping by boat.

Shipping initial channel supplies by boat would be a pure rockhead move by Nokia.

Nokia UK just told me 'end of next week' without hesitation. So It seems to depend on who you talk to.

nokiausa is saying its delayed (from the unbelievable its already shipping to preorders), and now it will be delivered end of this month.

Yeah well, I ceased believing anything Nokia says anymore, so if it shows up, great, but I certainly am not holding my breath (or I'd asphyxiate).

27/11/2009 is the date you are looking for, atleast in the Czech Republic, where it is the final retail date as Nokia Czech states. A day after we get a public Nokia presentation of the N900 in a Flagship store in Prague. Makes sense. That being in 10 days. You can bet that this date will be very similiar in other parts of the world.

Although I've preordered at nokia.de I send expansys.de an email because they changed from "3 Days" to "Verfügbarkeit: fällig ab Samstag 28.November" and asked what information they got from nokia and when they have their units in stock.

It was not my N900 order - it was a present from Neckermann.de for finding a new customer. I only said, I felt from my chair, cause I'm also a bit from freaking out to get the N900...

Indeed. Both Nokia reps I spoke to on the phone today (on 0800 331 6021) said it was shipping out from their warehouse this week.

Yep me to... Fingers crossed... I also asked teh adviser if I would get my device by the end of this week, he said most likley they will have stock to forfil all pre-orders, but of not they would recieve a new batch on Friday and ship it for either Monday or Tuesday :D :D

So it's sounding promising :D

Yep, I rang twice (once from work without an order number, once from home with) and got two completely different replies. Nice to know customer service is as consistently inconsistent as ever.

Hm. Am I the only one just sitting back, relaxed, never calling anyone or checking back on any ordering web page? It arrives when it arrives, and calling and checking etc. doesn't change a thing! :)

Yep. again, hedging their bets, tentative date, they don't know what is up. I think that announcement from last Tuesday was a bit premature, or possibly just announced to make it look like the phones were ready for acquisition.
