Has this come back at all? Maybe you just hadn't rebooted yet since your update?

Frustratingly no. The manual feed would only sync which ever was working at that given time.

I have since reset (restore settings) the phone and the feed appears to be working again!

Gmail still has outgoing server issues though so am stuck using MfE.

do you use 2 step verification with google?
i haven't had any trouble with twitter or fb updates, so sorry can't help there.
satnav, i've had one or two small hiccups, but on the whole works well for me..

are you on the latest firmware?

Also this if it's not already reported.
clovis seemed to think it was already a bug in 1.0.

Perhaps some limitation of the client, or the API that clients are allowed to use?
Or the API this particular client's using, or how it's using it?
Maybe try fMobi or twimgo and see if you have the same issues?

Based on some of the other threads, I'd def. recommend a protector.
Gorilla glass is far from immune to scratches...

I would also recommend the hard case...

It's pretty damn ugly, but it's the most suitable case right now.
As it protects the screen, & the silicon one that comes with the N9 doesn't.
More options will appear eventually, same for screen protector.

Pretty sure errors relating to (1) & (2) where addressed more than once in the two big threads the Nokia devs started for those areas.
As I recall they were being resolved (at least in part) with 1.1, but you'd need to review those threads for the full detail.
Never seen people complain much about (3) at all till 1.1, everyone else before seemed to think it was way better than N900.

Have you actually updated to 1.1 yet? Once you have do a full reset.
Only back-up stuff like docs/music/vids etc, then manually reconfigure everything.

Then see how it all goes...
If it definitely remains, check that all of these issues are filed as bugs.
If any aren't, make sure you report them.

@ Everyone

I've updated the OP with work-arounds that've popped-up since I last checked this thread.
If you can see I've missed a fix, or something looks to be incorrect, please do let me know.

Perhaps you think there's a better way to present the collective's info/learning going forward?
Either way I'm all ears....

The vast majority of people posting are asking for help, very few are sharing helpful info.
Please if you ever do find solutions, make sure you don't forget to share it with everyone!

I'll probably also start a live Google doc next week & link to it from the OP.
That way people can add to this doco whenever, & the OP & the Google doc can cross-pollinate one another.

I have noticed that twitter integration with contacts is bugged, If i reboot it looses the sync with contacts that are in twitter, only way to re-add them is disabling and re-enabling twitter in accounts.

anyone has this issue also,

sorry if it was already mentioned and I missed it.

Its a garbage phone. just updated. doesnt push my gmail. cant connect to my mfe at work. disaster. happy to have spent 0 dollars on this device.

No. It was a one-off caused by winter in Canada: cold/dry hands and frozen brain - not caused by the N9's hardware or software.

@ jalyst - thanks for the earlier reply - I have not had the PR1.1 update yet so I'm hopeful this will take care of a few of these issues. I have been waiting patiently but am tempted to take matters into my own hands!

I am still unable to unlock. Even after setting provisioning on and going back to security code, i dont see a way to disable it. Any more details??

I'm debating whether to just flash my starhub branded n9 or wait for the update. If I update it through nokia singapore I will likely have the branding
on the screen saver. Is there a file I can modify to remove the starhub logo for the screen saver? Actually, it might be fun to customize it. Also, is the bloatware removable without flashing?

If I go the flashing route, which location pr1.1 makes the most sense for someone living in US? Some have recommended central europe version. Finally, if I flash does that mean that all future updates will have to be done by flashing?

As a Starhub-branded N9 owner living in the US, I can speak to having done all of the things you asked about sucessfully (except the future updates, of course ;) ). I'm running central european firmware on it now. I chose that because people think it will receive future OTA updates sooner than others based on PR1.1 experiences. No other practical way to remove bloatware to my knowledge.

Before I flashed to that firmware I removed the starhub logo from the lock screen by reducing the image size to zero pixels in a config file. This made it invisible on the lockscreen so all you saw was the clock. I think this is the post that talks about modding all the different aspects of the lock screen:

Well, the title of the thread does include "N9 Pr1.X... & ask Qns" so I can't be totally off topic! Anyways, thanks for you efforts to help organize information concerning N9 and, yes, I think that it would be helpful if you added a generic flash/update section for future reference as Pr1.1 will hopefully not be the last update. I finally bit the bullet and flashed my N9 to central Europe version. No more starhub logo. No more bloatware. I'm happy...

PR 1.2 (v30.2011.42-1) is out for the N950 but still doesn't have the one feature I am missing dearly... Anybody know if Nokia is actually working on a Folder View for the application screen?

guys/girls,

just need some quick insight regarding one thing:

i just flashed to 1.1 firmware, and i am trying to enable developer mode, when i get a message which says "installation package not found"

any solution to this? i could really use xterminal and other things which developer mode offers. thanks

try reboot, make sure you have an internet connection.
if you just want terminal there is a way to install it without enabling dev mode. There is a package somewhere, you'll have to search for it.

Today is the first day i am using my phone without the provided rubber case and i realized that shipping from right edge is not as smooth as from the left. What i mean is if i swipe from the right edge i can feel the glass cut, feels like it is slightly raised, does anyone have the same design or yours is smooth that you do not feel the glass cutting?

also why does the Skype call gets ended after 20seconds? I have never had a style call last more than 23 seconds on my phone, and when monitoring with different Skype account in computer, the account configured on phone keeps going offline and then comes back online by itself in exactly every 20 or so seconds... And this seems to be true on Google talk too however i had made atheist one Google talk call that lasted almost an hour when phone was in pr1.0. Is anyone facing similar issues? Oh btw the connection is on 3.5g. I have a solid 5 bar signal all the time.

imo , its might be the fault of your carrier, MOBILE OPERATORs in many countries have restriction of Voip Packet data transfer, so when there is "illegal" VoIP data streaming they cut off the data?
I have seen this happen to skype calls from PC-PC , a few years ago our country imposed ban on VoIP ..

o god i wrote so much rubbish :eek:

So... SATNAV.

I had been getting annoyed with satnav. For some reason I thought it could work offline?!

When searchng for a desination it has to be online. However, once the route is found, leaving it online seems to confuse the hell out of it and it constantly tries to recalculate the route whilst travelling:?? At the moment, I have to go online for it to work out the route, then take it offline to navigate to stop it going mental.

I thought that once you have the map it didnt need to go online at all? hence avoiding potentially costly data charges overseas by downloading the maps upfront?

Or have I got this totally wrong?

I'm surprised at the issues when leaving it online also, anyone else have this?

I've had no need to use it offline, since I've just used it for domestic routing (Finland). But for what it's worth, I've had no problems whatsoever with it, doesn't recalculate unless I go off the initial route it suggests.

problem here: im or sms appear under wrong name so if i received a message from x it appears under y in the messaging app and so on ,,this is not initiated on 1.1 but i though it was fixed on 1,1 which wasn't so really appreciate your help.thnx
