Mine says no update available though. What version of kernel module does the main screen say you have?

Wait, did I get this right?! I can use your files on my PR1.3 now again without any disadvantages!? Did you compile from scratch with 1.3 kernel sources or did Nokia not provide those (yet)

Yes it's working fine... almost. Not sure why these guys are having problems. I don't think Nokia provided the sources yet unless someone requested and received them on DVD. They didn't change much if anything in the kernel though or this wouldn't load at all.

Maybe you guys should try restarting, and please check under manage apps that the core shows that it's installed properly. I hope you read the instructions about incepting the package too. Actually, never mind. I bet I restart and it stops working for me now lol.

When i try and OPPtimize its says No such file or directory.

Okay, well, the loader is broken then. I'll have to investigate why. The modules work fine and are stored in the same folder as before, /lib/modules/2.6.32.48... You should be able to manually load them for now.

friends, i sure i do it right, incept the new modules and then ui, reboot
when run the apps, it said there is 1.53 update available, and i cant see any information of my CPU

This folder isenīt important or? 2.6.32.54...

i know it's the old folder, the app is crashing with error code 255 on mine (see dmesg) so maybe it's trying to load them from the new folder. hmmm. yeah i think it uses modprobe so that's probably why.

you could just move the symsearch and opptimizer.ko files from /lib/modules/oldkernel# to the new one and restart, i bet

lame... okay well i will fix it in a few hours when i have some free time.

if you really want it now,
install (incept) aegisctl from inception site
run opensh or type ariadne in front of last 3 commands:
cd /lib/modules/2.6.32.48.....
/usr/sbin/aegisctl -k (maybe not necessary if the hashing part of the loader worked, i have no idea at this point)
/sbin/insmod symsearch.ko
/sbin/insmod opptimizer.ko

run UI from menu, it won't care about the loader problems
modules stay loaded until phone crashes or you hold down power 8 seconds

Thanks for the quick response rate :-) We'll gladly wait for the fixed version! I'm so looking forward to my 1.2 GHz again :D

Meanwhile please educate us on whether we can simply install your fixed version over the old ones via inception, or if it needs uninstallation and proper removal of the copied *.ko files.

This worked. :D The /usr/sbin/aegisctl -k part wasnīt necessary.

okay, for real this time :)
I figured out what was wrong, the postinst / postrm files had the kernel version hardcoded, and it runs some command like this"/sbin/depmod -a 2.6.32.48-dfl61-20115101 || true" that is required for modprobe to work.
I added another for the new kernel so it should still work on the old one. Someone try this and make sure it works!

Incepted the new package and installed on top of the previous one, gives me the same errors that are described previously.

1.5.4 and 1.2.5 those are to clarify it.

Cool, okay, well I had to break the compatibility with PR 1.2 because I'm not smart enough to have the kernel modules install in the correct folder depending on whichever kernel you have. The only problem with that is if you are stuck on PR 1.2 for some reason you're gonna get the message popping up saying there's a new version but you won't be able to install it.
I just overwrote the file on my server again with another that should have the version string fixed internally too.
