I got my spare (not that I probably need them because they don't seem to scratch) Vikuiti DCQ-160s from schutzfolien24.de and they were smaller then the previous ones, which were a bit too large for the N900. Otherwise similar package etc.

Date on this new package was 27.11.2009, don't know if that is from a newer batch because I lost the old package, but my curiosity got the best of me and I removed the perfectly fine self-cut one and applied the new one.

It fits perfect! Went in on the first try without any air bubbles or anything, tight fit but not too tight to be able to easily put in place.

It just got a lot more easier to recomment the Vikuiti!

BTW Vikuiti does not cover any of the sensors in front, there are three holes in the top left corner, one hole in the middle of left and one in the bottom left corner.

Thats's good to know. Mine hasn't arrived yet, so I hope I have one of the new smaller sizes. What date did you order on?

Re: how are you going to protect your N900?

Just bought a phantomskinz screen protector and two different rubber cases. The first one Team C had listed and the link below...see which one I like better.

Just curious, but how do people make money on these things?!? The link above is from Australia, and it only cost $2.87 to have it shipped Airmail.

Thanks iJanne, that just made me more confident for tomorrow when I'll get my replacement protector from schutzfolien24. My DQC-160 has been orderen around 15.11. so it has been about two weeks ago.

I'll report back tomorrow when I (hopefully) get my replacement.

Re: how are you going to protect your N900?

As reported in the screen protector threads I am using a Vikuiti DCQ-160 screen protector. The first one was slighlty too big and needed cutting. New replacement is perfect size. Seems like very good protection, easy to apply and reapply without residue, has proper holes for all the sensors, lets the screen shine through well and works great with finger and stylus.

I use a screen protector mostly because of frequent stylus use. I don't want to worry about scratching the screen when madly stylusing around.

For overall protection I use the black sock (yellow inside) from Nokia that fits well over many Nokia models including the N900.

Hey all - been roaming here a few months now, but figured I'd register to share this promo code I came across for 20% off full Invisible Shield (not just the screen protector) from invisibleskinz.com

http://www.invisibleskinz.com/
Code: MyDigi2993

The lady I spoke to there indicated that they should ship out by the end of the week, and I noticed that Zagg's site shows shipping from them in 3-5 days from purchase:

Would prefer to pick up a Martin Fields overlay, but I'm looking forward to these. I tried the Durasec "healing" protector and hated it. A big PITA to apply and didn't like the texture of the screen afterwards. Might be fine for non-touchphones (although I also removed it from my N86 cause it looked like s**t).

Long version: I'm a big guy and want to carry my N900 in my front pocket just like I do for my N810. A simple sleeve or pouch would work best for me to prevent scratches to the screen, but not add extra bulk to the already chubby N900.

I'm a huge fan of Waterfield Design, a San Francisco company who makes all of their products in house. A photo I took that shows their quality workmanship can be found at: http://www.flickr.com/photos/speednutdave/3073066779/ (select "all sizes" to view high-res photo)

I've given them the Nokia spec page with the N900 dimensions (http://www.nokiausa.com/find-product...specifications) and they informed me that they can have the case ready for production in a week or so. If you want to order one now, just pick the droid version, then in the special instructions section, state that "custom size is needed for Nokia N900 -
4.37" height x 2.35" width x .77" depth".

The "suede jacket" is $9 + CA resident state taxes + $7 ground shipping  (however, shipping from SF to San Jose is same day or next day, so at least it's fast for me ;))

I'll update this thread again once I've received the pouch/"suede jacket".

Wish we had something similar in the UK :(

Postage to here is probably extortionate too :(
